Book Cover - 1st Serious Montage Attempt
Diving into How to Cheat in Photoshop has taught me a ton. Looking for feedback on this (book cover for my upcoming novel) and any improvements that can be made. Currently contemplating using the oil painting tutorial found here in Readers Tutorials.

Very interesting. I like the way you've wrapped the image around the cover from front to back, and the strong diagonals that give it dynamism.

I'd move your name down a little, so it clears her legs - or perhaps move her up a bit. And do you think the title is strong enough against the brighter part of the cloud background?

Interesting that you're designing this as a printed book cover, when I'd have assumed that most of your sales would be through online outlets such as Kindle. How will you promote the book?

Thanks, Steve!

Great suggestions about the name. Think I will move the date up and name down so she is free of all text.

The title has been a pain, as all titles seem to be for me. I try for a balance of blending and standing out. The title needs to be changed, but I'm drawing a blank, so I'll give it a few days and see if anything bubbles up. Any suggestions would surely be appreciated.

I'm doing hard copy print-on-demand and e-books. Promotion will be done online and real world (print ads, flyers and posters in local bookstores, etc.) with some distribution of copies to local bookstores as well.

When you do the eBook cover, remember that potential readers will most likely only see a tiny thumbnail until they buy it. I'd suggest making the girl a lot larger for that edition or she'll get lost.

Steve, another good point. Thank you!

I've modified the title, spine, and author name to better fit the style. Improvement, you think?

Yes, I think that's stronger. Good luck with the book.

Appreciate the input and the well wishes. Without your book, that cover wouldn't have been possible. It's the first I've done with which I've been happy.
