Some Wallpapers
Thanks to the excellent How to Cheat in Photoshop, I've been able to do some wallpaper montages. |

Re: Some Wallpapers
I like the composition here. But you must make the colour of the figures match the tone of the background! And in the first one, shouldn't the figure be backlit? |

Re: Some Wallpapers
I thought I matched the tone. LOL Back to the book then (unless you have some advice on additional methods for better tone-matching). Great point about the Saeva being back lit! She's too bright in the front. |

Re: Some Wallpapers
Made some changes to the Trux using a bit of the Oil Paint filter and then using Corel Painter for the icy trees. Added some brush strokes here and there and used blending options with a bit of dodge and burn. Overall, this new approach gave the image a more paint-like and softer feel. ![]() |

Re: Some Wallpapers
Along with the lighting and shadows, the oil painting effect I picked up this week lent this just the right mood, I think. Had a time with her reflection until I stumbled upon the screen blend mode and lowered the fill. Titled: Does he live? ![]() |

Re: Some Wallpapers
One of the hardest things about Poser is getting the expressions right. The title may be Does he live, but her expression is more What shall I have for breakfast. It's like the difference between a great actor, who performs the subtext, and a mediocre one, who only speaks the words. I like the reflection of the candle. Given the angle of the glass, though, we should be seeing her reflection more head-on. |

Re: Some Wallpapers
This wasn't done with Poser, but regardless the 3D app, what you said about expressions with models is true...usually. There are things I've learned to do to really enhance the expressions, but here one of loss or heartbreak does not fit the character portrayed regardless the relationship with the unnamed "he" (yet to be determined). While Koralie is a passionate person, she is very independent and by the time this scene takes place, she is battle-hardened. Even with that under consideration, however, no one except me will know this. LOL So, yep, time to change the title! I'll work on the reflection. Great catch and thanks for noting it! ![]() |
