Some macro photography
I took my macro lens down to the woods yesterday to see what I could find. I was particularly looking for some good mushroom photographs and found a small clump of these beautifully coloured specimens.

This particular mossie sat quite happily posing with the lens about 2 inches from the mushroom.

The image was adjusted for levels, then Shadow / Highlights were adjusted. It was then converted to Lab to sharpen the Lightness channel before converting back to RGB.

The nice thing about macro photography is that there is a whole new world there to explore that most of us never see. Hope you all like it.

Love your mossie. Perhaps I should get a macro lens. Have just bought a new camera, a Canon 400D Lovely camera. My not so old camera had got mold growing in the lens, and it would have cost me about $900.00 to fix it.
Found this lovely Irish among my weeds the other day.

Re: Some macro photography
Lovely photos and excellent lighting with all of them. I have a 105mm Macro Lens now for my Nikon D70 but my work gets in the way of me being able to get out and put it to some good use like taking lovely photos like yours GKB and Vibeke.

Nice to see some people's own photos here at HTCIP.

Thanks, It's nice to be old enough not to have to work.

Thanks Becky. I agree with Vibeke's comment above. I now realise that I should have retired 35 years ago! This work lark does get in the way of everything else.

Some fantastic shots.... I love the details the macro brings out! Also GKB, really grateful you mentioned the work you did on the wider shot as I was wondering about the effect.

Hope to see more of your work (both)! Or, should I say, the results of your retirement?
