Topaz 3
Topaz 3 is now out, a great improvement to the interface, much easier to use. Better pre-views. ![]() _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Topaz is a Photoshop plugin, where you can create some great effects very easy, some looks like HDR without all the work. http://www.topazlabs.com/topazlabs/03products/topaz_adjust/ _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Topaz 3
Hi Vibeke Having played around with HDR and to be honest ended up rather disappointed, this looks like a fantastic alternative with half the effort. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Nick |

Re: Topaz 3
I agree about HDR, especially in Photoshop, Photomatrix is easier, but Topaz makes it a breeze, especially with the new interface. And the ease of using the individual sliders, for noise etc. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Topaz 3
I have Photomatix and have used PS as well and the latter does not do such a good job, which endorses articles I've read. Although I've followed tutorials to the letter, I still end up with a really false looking result, which I suppose HDR is, if you think about it. I much prefer to make 2 Raw conversions and blend using 'blend if' and mask where appropriate. A really powerful tool in PS is the shadow and highlight feature and this is very often forgotten. The Topax still gives a false image, but it seems to add a certain amount of artistic licence, which completes the picture, if you'll pardon the expression. I see this being very useful for really unusual wedding shots, as shown on the web link you attached. I'm seriously considering this. Thanks again Nick |

I love the shadow and highlight feature in PS, one of the reasons I upgraded to CS3. What I like about the new Topaz, that you can so easily modify their results, to get a more natural look. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |
