The blue light
By chance I found this free image on morgueFile and I photoshopped it.
A thanks to Pietro, a friend of mine, for his help into this work.
Suggestions and comments are welcome!
I hope you like it.

Re: The blue light
Thanks for your comment Anna

The hardest problem was to make the line getting narrower and narrower.
It took me a while to figure out how to do this. Not sure this is the easier and faster method, but the only one occurred to me.
So, first create a twirl path round the spiral staircase, then in a new layer stroke the path with a big white brush and erase most of it leaving only the line on the top floor, then, with a smaller brush stroke again the path and erase most of it. And so on…Then cut out the jagged edges.
Not sure I made myself clear, but the image should give you an idea.

Then apply a Gaussian blur and in a new layer paint along the edges of the line using a new brush with these presets:
Spacing: 1000%
Size Jitter: 1000%
Scatter: 600%
Or you can download the Audio Lines Brushes to paint along the edges of the line for a more “energetic” effect, but I prefer the first version.
Apply a Gaussian blur with a small amount to this new layer too.
Put the line and the “bubbles” layers in a group, change the group blending mode to Linear dodge (add), and merge the layers together.
Select the pixels of the layer and in a new layer fill the selection with cyan, reduce the opacity to 30% and change the blending mode to lighten, select the pixels of the layer again and contract the selection, then in a new layer fill the selection with white, duplicate the cyan layer and put it above the others then change the opacity to 100% and the blending mode to normal.
For the last time select the pixels of the line and add a Hue Saturation adjustment layer, check the Colorize box with these settings:
Hue: 188
Saturation: 29
Lightness: -61

Maybe not an accurate explanation, I skipped some steps, anyway I hope I made myself clear.

Thanks
Stefano
