My first ever attempt at 'computer art'? 1993
I just bought a floppy disk drive and was hoping to find some doodles I may have done.. I didn't find much (I think those old floppy's broke a lot!) but I did find these terrible little images, I think I was 11 and probably used MS paintbrush.. I remember a lot of my doodles involved fire and spacemen being shot..

Interesting that you show your history about computer drawings. Very nice for an 11 years old boy. I started much later, 38 years old, 26 years ago.
My first attempt to do something serious on a computer was with GEOS. An 8 bit operating system on the Commodore 64 in 1986. I used GeoDraw and GeoPublish, a rudimental DTP program to make up a little magazine for our foundation. Unfortunately I don't have any bitmaps of my afforts there. Then came PC/DOS and Ensemble, a 16 bit graphical OS. Here I made one of my first 'drawings', a logo for our computer foundation, which I accidental converted into a BMP file. The originals all have an extension like .000 and I can only reach this drawings if I use a virtual PC program within a 32 bits Windows. I'm not much of an artist though...

Interesting, isn't it, how we make the best of the limited tools available to us. You've got great texture in that fire, by overlaying red and yellow using a brush with a halftone pattern. Nice to see this archive material.

That is great Artwel!! Very creative and innovative for an 11 year old. Your drawings took me back to a time when all we had were those Nintendo Game Watches ( around 1980 onwards). One in particular I used to love, Fireman. You controlled the movements of the fireman and rescued as many people as possible as they jumped/fell/were thrown out of a burning building.

The funniest thing though, which I had forgotten until now, they were powered by the same type of batteries that my mum used for her hearing aid and because they were quite expensive and hard to come by we would share ownership of the batteries lol. So when we wanted to play Nintendo, she couldn't hear and when she needed her hearing aid, we couldn't play. Worked really well haha.
