Challenge 315: The cathedral
During my recent holiday in France I came across this truly magnificent cathedral in the town of - well, I'm not going to tell you the town, or you'll just Google it.

The cathedral is made of concrete, and was built in the 1950s. It's a truly stunning piece of architecture, both inside and out.

Shown here is the bottom half of the building. If you were the architect, how would you choose to top it off? Can you build me the top half of the cathedral?

Next Friday, I'll show you the entire building.

high res is here.

Even concrete 1950's France gives it away!

Thats a very big Cathedral Tomiloi - great work, but I'd hate to be the guy who maintains the bells. Very funny Gordon and welcome Scoobyclub - good entry.

Re: Challenge 315: The cathedral
Thanks Stefano. I like your modern interpretation of Babel. In a slightly twisted way it could be inspirational. Lonnie's version, on the other hand gets down the God of Power and Vengeance that we all know and love from that book.

When I saw the challenge, I thought, 'Notre Dame meets Hoover Dam' so I gave it the two-eared ND look.

While Steve was away on vacation, I snuck into the Filter Gallery and came up with a watercolor look that fits with what I do.

Guy Billout. I remember his name so he must be influential. Check out his web site.

I echo Josephine's words. My ambitious ideas were short on skills to carry through quite as I'd hoped!

Thanks Stefano. I'm glad you like it. This was a timely challenge. It had been so long since I used vanishing point, I had to relearn it. Did you use it to create your impressive tower too?
