Challenge 366: Back of house
The Odeon cinema in Leicester Square is London's major screen - it's where all the big premieres take place, and has seen hundreds of big-name film stars sweep up the red carpet and enter its doors.

The back of the building, though, tells a different story. Miserable, run-down, definitely not an A-list venue. Come on, Odeon! Surely the rear of such an iconic building can be made more glamorous than this?

High res is here.

What a disgrace! I'm ashamed to be British! What will the tourists think? Don't worry as I have the contractors right on the job

Oh dear! Was concentrating on the transformation so much it didn't occur t me that there was unlikely to be a 'des res' above the shop so to speak. How stupid!

Oh dear! I have started something that I don't have the ability to complete. No idea how to work out the perspective of the people but the only way to learn is to have a go...

Re: Challenge 366: Back of house
Joey,

Not sure why you can't get it spatially larger. It has been discussed before in several places.
But in brief, in case helps now:

When your PSD finished select >File >Save for Web Devices. It might complain saying "....too large....", but can ignore most times and go ahead with next steps, if not Flatten before (hint rename and save before flatten if want to keep layers).

In the new Save For Web Devices window, change the size to ~750 - 800 pixels on the longest side. Then tune the Quality up-down from default 60 until see the file size < 97kb. You can tune Quality and the Size for whatever is best for your image. Save the new created jpeg of your image and upload it in the normal way.

If you still have problems, let us know and we can discuss e.g. under problems

Trevor

Re: Challenge 366: Back of house
Once again the ferret of time has run up the trouser leg of eternity and I have failed to complete the Friday challenge.
Very much enjoying the entries though - maybe I should be consulting the FC-ers on a makeover for my own crumbling pile
