Challenge 440: Forensic archaeology
Dramatic news for fans of medieval royalty this week, as a skeleton dug up in the car park of a supermarket in Leicester turned out to be that of King Richard III (1452-85), the last English king to die in battle.

The bones were identified partly by a mitochondrial DNA match with a living descendent of Richard's mother, and partly through the tell-tale twist of his spine that pointed to scoliosis (Richard was long believed to have been a hunchback, as Shakespeare portrayed him).

Such an obvious deformity made the skeleton much easier to identify, of course. I was wondering: what physical characteristic might make it easy to identify the skeleton of another historical character? Who would we be able to recognise from their bones alone?

The work of Korean artist Hyungkoo Lee might give you an idea. No starting image this week - go dig up your own skeletons.

Hope you don't mind me dipping in and out, in the middle of setting up a new business.

Not too sure but I think maybe the outstretched arm shadow should be shorter, I'm sure Steve will keep me right.

Great entries so far -- like your" Venus" Garfield -- Josephine thanks and I have 350 political names for your empty head and a whole senate when they leave the trough. If there's room I'll squeeze in the provincial politicians names next.
