Challenge 459: In the shelter
This Second World War bomb shelter is an exhibit in London's Museum of the Docklands, and we've had a few Challenges from here before.

It's a sparse, sterile exhibit: with no clutter, no people and no period artefacts, it's just an empty space. How would you, as a museum designer, make this have more resonance for the visiting public?

High res is here.

Couldn't decide whether colour was better or give it a period feel of black and white

Yes, this is a genuine World War II poster.
No, I don't know what happened on that train either.

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit...

... he was no ordinary hobbit ... he had electricity.

Well that's another beautiful illusion shattered !

It also explains why the image had been removed from a site of (presumably genuine) WWII posters when I revisited. What a shame.

Hi Josephine,
Maybe this is the official one.

Edit: Sorry Ben Mills, I didn't follow your link yet. Now I see...
I found the poster at Google graphics.

As a museum designer, this is my idea in how to make this shelter more interesting for the visiting public.

Just celebrating a recent, well-attended lunch.

Re: Challenge 459: In the shelter
Wait a minute! A bomb shelter is a shelter FROM bombs, not FOR bombs.
