Challenge 471: The light flare

A more technical Challenge this week, as a change from the exuberant fantasies of recent Challenges.

A friend of mine is in a band and has this photo of one of the other band members. Although it's a charming portrait, it appears to have been taken through a window - which has produced a bright flare over one eye. In addition, the hair at the back is blown out by the reflection of the flash in the window behind.

Is it possible to rescue this picture? The solution will require some careful Photoshop work.

It doesn't matter what you do with the original hair it's still going to be a mess, and not very flattering to the lady...so a nice new hairstyle is in order.

In response to Artwel's observation, I have re-done the fringe. Incidentally, I noticed in the original (not my original!) that the left eye was slightly wider than the right, so by reducing opacity on the copied eye, I was able to get an accurate match using Liquify.
