Among the many attractions Lanzarote has to offer (and I realise I'm sounding like a travel brochure) one of my favourites was a castle on top of a hill which has been turned into a museum of piracy.

Among the many exhibits was this model of a pirate ship. I've photographed it as best I can through the glass case.

Can you put this ship to sea? And perhaps populate the deck with pirates? Not an easy angle of view... so see what you can do.

High res is here.

Historical note: the title of this week's Challenge is a quote from Robert Newton, whose performance as Long John Silver in the 1950 film Treasure Island made the world believe that all pirates should speak with a West Country accent. Should you wish to learn this technique I've come across this bizarre training CD that, as far as I can tell, is entirely serious.

I love the 1950's style RP pronunciation of the tutor!

Pirates seem to be a big thing in America - they even have an official "Pirates Day" any excuse to sell people tat

Oh yes over here in the USA we have talk like a pirate day. If you go dressed up in pirate gear to a Krispy Kreame doughnuts they will give you a dozen free. There are pub crawls as well but we just look for another excuse to go drinking lol. Here is my go for this weeks challenge. I love the skeletons and also since my neighbor has his xmas tree up already I am not taking down my halloween decoration until thanksgiving

"Steel Bikini" art is not my usual thing. This started from a simple steam punk flying ship. Looking for steam punk pirate figures to put on the boat I did a picture search under "cosplay" and wham! .... not only males ... but lots of girls dressed up as their fantasy heroes ... there's some weird and wild stuff out there ...... I rather got carried away!

Wasted far too much time I should be spending doing sensible things .....
