Challenge 671: The Kiln Fields
Just outside the village of Port d'Envaux in the Charente Maritime you'll find the sculpture park Les Lapidiales - actually more of a quarry, where guest sculptors carve new designs into the walls each year. We've featured it in a Challenge a few years ago.

They also do pottery classes there, and the clay is fired in this rather glorious kiln. On the day I visited this year, however, it wasn't in use.

Can you light the kiln?

High res is here.

Although I haven't participated in Challenges for a while, I do stop by every week and admire the work by everyone... I was compelled by this awesome kiln to put something together this week though.

Thanks Anna! My work is an animation, and it requires a lot more work than a static image, but your work is a complete story from beginning to end: it's so much more than an "animation": it's a mini film of excellence!

Great entries everyone. I'll see you in the next challenge. Trying to get my head in order after the hurricane in Florida.
