Challenge 1067: The caged insect
I recently had to go to Cologne for the day for work, and near the splendid cathedral I spotted this bizarre piece of equipment. Luckily it was fenced in. Imagine what would happen if it escaped…

High res is here.

Lovely city. Very relaxed and laid back.

Amazing how a simple basic hoist can manage to look predatory!!

From 1990 to 2012 I was in Cologne every two years for international trade show Photokina (sadly no longer exists).

No one would have believed in the early twenty-first century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's first conception of AI.

Fun stuff. I particularly like War of the Worlds. Amazingly, even though you have elevated him to great heights, the perspective still works!!

On which topic, if anyone wants fresh views on this beastie you can find them here .... cut out even! I suspect some of you have already found this.

But you do know you should be using the supplied version ......... don't you?

That's a long way from your part of the world. I take it you were a photo professional then?

Professional photographer, equipment manufacturer and Australian agent for many many pro equipment manufacturers. Met my American wife there.

Although I can't remember you even hinting at it in the past, I have often wondered.

Goes a long way to explain the consistently high standard of your submissions here.
