Challenge 1109: To the Batmobile!
I was wandering around a car boot sale last weekend when I came across a stall selling vintage toys. Among them was this Batmobile, and I remembered having played with one of these nearly sixty years ago. Mariner, of course, will want to restore this somewhat battered vehicle to showroom condition, but can the rest of you find a suitable location in which to show off this vintage relic? High res is here. |

I shall do my best, Steve. AI Overview This is a vintage Corgi Toys 267 Batmobile from 1966. |

Here's a quickie. No need for a critique Steve. If anyone wants to use this, feel free.

Sure, I'll use it, thanks Mariner! Don't laugh, I now have a whole thirty minutes tied up in this one.

I was planning to post this earlier, but the opportunity to use Mariner’s work took precedence over my simple quickie.

I found a free model to download at Sketchfab, compliments of S.York-designs. Slightly different to this but fun to play with. I added and fixed a few things in PS.

Nicely Done Dennis... I need to start checking Sketchfab for ideas on future challenges. |

Close to perfect Dennis. I just looked at Sketchfab and found a couple of hundred imitation Batmobiles. Thanks for the tip. |

Re: Challenge 1109: To the Batmobile!
Thanks Loyd, thanks Michael. What I like about Sketchfab is that it has such a nice viewer for the models, I often rotate the model in the viewer, to the angle I want and clip the image for PS. If you press ALT and left click drag, it'll change the position of the light enabling you to match the light direction of the photo you want to add it to.. Fab has a lot of free models too. Some very realistic ones. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

The nice thing about Sketchfab is that you don’t necessarily need to have a 3D programme. If you find a model that you like you can rotate the displayed image to the position you want, enlarge it to fit the screen and then take a screenshot. There are some limits but I have used this technique often when the file format of the actual 3D model cannot be opened in Cinema or Blender. _________________ Whatever you do in life do it with the enthusiasm of a 4-year old in a Batman suit. |

I tired that, works well for my needs. Dennis's tip for lighting is fun as well. Now I just have to wait for the proper challenge to give it a try. |

Would you buy an expensive vintage collector toy Batmobile from this guy?
I like the patina of the provided Batmobile so I used it here. |

Re: Challenge 1109: To the Batmobile!
I enjoyed the process of placing all my characters into the scene. My imagination took me back a couple of decades...okay, a couple more and then some. What's Flash saying? "Go, I'll give you a head start!" I'll bet the Joker backed Flash. Unless he splashed lubricant all over the road ahead. ![]() _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

Steve sets out upon a sentimental restoration of his car boot find.
The hardest thing for me was to find a way to use the supplied challenge image and not just substitute new shiny stuff. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Very clever David, I think your 'backwards ageing' AI work is the most convincing thing that I've seen. |

Like David I wanted to use the original image and find a way to use it in it's battered shape. ![]() |

Nicely done Frank, it's one of those "wish I had thought of that" entries. |
