Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
I had 37 layers. Judging by the hesitation and sudden disappearance of the figure, I probably should have had 39, but I'm hesitant to attempt the repair. The scene is a working 1880's farm at a museum just up the road - the blacksmith shop on the left, with the barn in the background. _________________ Is it necessary? Does it work? |

Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
ok, i fear that with the attempt to get motion more fluid i did film-rate frames, 25/s. i should have used helplines (this definitely is not the english word for it but what can i do) and switch on the snap to function to prevent ginger from slightly sliding. too late now. the photograph by the way is mine of course, i hope all islanders appreciate it (chrchrchrchr...), and i considered moving the flag. i was too lazy for it.

Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
Well, I must admit I have always had a great deal of admiration for the animators on this site, and I have a great deal to learn. So I'll just post this while I still have my sanity. ![]() |

Enjoying the recent additions ![]() Mmm ...not used to doing these anaimations, bit painful and slow, but interesting exercise/lesson. My attempt .. time ran out..... ![]() Edited now smaller, to remove jitter rendered here in larger pixel format earlier. Any use of the puppet tool there or was this purely PS? I won't attempt this one. Making bicycle wheels rotate is about my limit. |

Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
What is that? BTW Jota was 100% PS CS4. ~110layers, 11 groups +6 layers and 4 working., and many deleted. (Not as bad as it sounds ![]() If there was a tool, good luck, I'd prefer, but good to do the basics "by-hand". Clears the mind and can give more personal interpretation and understanding. ![]() Once maybe enough ![]() |

Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
Deborah, Michael, I know these problems! It took many times one step forward and then two backwards, literally. So ....... in the end just had to do a rugby rush past the line and retire afterwards. At least we/you achieved something. Look fwd to others that can make it. Redsnapper, As PM don't worry about the flag motion or more, (or mention to SC ![]() ![]() I do enjoy your walking/sliding motion ![]() Maybe you can get the guy some shorts ![]() Look fwd to next... |

Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
Purely 100% Photoshop the Puppet Tool would have have made the legs a bit too jelly-like. So as I had to seperate the layers in PS then it only made sense to animate in PS. |

Trevor, I'd say you have a pretty realistic motion there and Deborah I love the cartoon effect. Top marks for taking the plunge. Nick |

Re: Challenge 283: the animation test
I spent an hour trying to make this work after which my nurse told me that I should lie down quietly in a darkened room with a cup of hot tea and a biscuit and leave it to the others to do all the hard work. Some excellent attempts so far. Becky, I take my hat off to you. That's an excellent walk cycle; you have even got the left arm swinging with the right leg for balance. I'm going to take nurse's advice and sit this one out. _________________ Why isn't 'phonetic' spelled the way it sounds? |

Hy everyone, This is not my cup of tea! I just don't know how this works. Tutorials are usually very helpful but I can't sit down and look at them. I know, it's all about trying, failing, trying, failing, trying and have succes! I am jealous ![]() Well done everyone, I am humble again.......... Gerard |
