Half full or half empty?

My first entry was done by taking a photo, in this on 'No Photos' have been damaged, apart from Steve's original all the rest have been done in PS, with drawing, painting and layers.

Love the skull, guess you aren't a fan of coca cola.

Coke does have its uses: I use it to clean battery terminals, it works great.
BTW I used your picture of quartz crystals from the CS5 collection to create the ice cubes. The photos are fantastic. I look forward to using many more.

This is an interesting challenge. To pick up on Lonnie's point, the short focus means that the top front of the glass is higher than the rear, so we are looking up through the surface of the Coke. Anyway, here's mine, but I didn't have time today to learn how to draw a lemon.

Thanks, Josephine. I'm still fiddling with my bubble technique.

I agree, of course, and IMO you've represented a FULL glass properly. One nit though, is that the brief states "half full" (again a bit ambiguous). The key is to locate the height at which the coke surface would be perfectly level for the POV. I used some rough math and some vague visual clues from the glass to determine it would be pretty much where Brewell has his glass filled -- about 2/3 full. Well done Brewell! Once that is established, we would know that any fill amount below that level would show increasingly more of the top surface of the coke. Like you said, an interesting challenge.

Thanks Lonnie and your're absolutely right. No excuses, I just didn't read the brief properly. Points to be deducted no doubt! There is another point though and that's whether the arm of the chair is level. I suspect it slopes towards us.

Re: Challenge 309: Half fill the glass
Thanks Josephine. I cheated (of course) by using an image of iced tea - just needed to transform and adjust the color/density. I admire your adroit solution very much, using a stack of ice cubes. Though it doesn't adhere to the letter of the brief, it essentially averts the whole perspective issue.

Nick, you resolved the most important aspect of the challenge, so no point deduction IMHO. It'll be interesting to see the actual photo!

I'd have to agree with that suspicion, Nick - which would surely complicate matters. Are we having fun yet?

Re: Challenge 309: Half fill the glass
My attempt. ... Nice tea with a bit of fizz! Great entries folks.
Its a bit funny how the top of the glass flips, well it does in my mind. If look at scratch, can see top part is higher in foreground.
Another issue, is the armrest sloping .
I'm soon away for 3 weeks re-cycling, so nothing from this camp. I'll miss all your works.

If have a bit more time, might contribute a more interesting (???) adjunct
