Kate wanted to invite her. William had one condition. Lady Gaga agreed eagerly. ![]() _________________ Is it necessary? Does it work? |

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
Lady Gaga is the latest outrageous pop phenomenon here in the States. Think if Madonna and Elton John had a child, it would be Lady Gaga. She strikes me as the type of person that would do anything to get invited to the royal wedding, as long as she could get some publicity. _________________ I aim to give pause. |

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
Oh I see! She is strange! I see the connection. Great image! Much more intersting for me now! She LGG seems to be "bright" here too. She is on TV. Not my taste. Her image is interesting at first but no interest for me. Quite a few like it. No problem. I have nothing against her....Just not interested. I could give you some small PS technical comments, but just my style ![]() Thanks Bruce, Trevor PS my image is on the way ... and it will not be "conceit" this time apart from they always are like most of us ![]() |

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
As a nod to the new age of austerity Kate makes her dress from a pair of her Nan's net curtains and hires the Lower Cruddington village hall for the reception. ![]() _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
I spent ages trying to make the hat white yet remain see through. Anna did it; don't know how though. Colour replace wasn't the answer. Nevertheless, as Josephine remarked, austerity demands compromise and Will and Kate's walk to the Abbey was a long one... Ted ![]() |

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
Ted, I was planning on using a channel mask but didn't have the time. The big problem is that the the original image is rather softer than I would like to get a clean mask. Perhaps Anna will tell us how she did it? _________________ Why is there only one body to investigate Monopolies ? |

I don't know if this is the right way of doing it, but at least a fast and dirty one ... Dan

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
Thanks Gordon for your thought of Channel Mask I'll look into that but meanwhile, though your solution may have been 'fast and dirty' Daniel it works. So how did you get from picture one to two masking out the moirč pattern of the hat? Ted |

Re: Challenge 327: Will & Kate
Hi Ted, I simply used the Patch tool on the areas covered by the hat (by dragging the selections into the uncovered areas of the face). The nice thing about the patch tool is that it attempts to match the texture, lighting and shading of the area that is being fixed (as opposed to the Clone tool). The forehead was too dark, so I lightened it up a little bit before using the Patch tool on it. You can achieve pretty good results if you use some time. I just used about five minutes on this one. I could have added some pattern to the hat (with some opaque white areas and some more transparent white areas) to make it nicer, but I had to walk my dog! ![]() Dan
