There are loads of great images as per usual but I must do a shout out for Gordon's, as I am a huge Marx Bros fan and Anna's, creepy and kooky, amazing animation!

I've come up with several variations on this theme - I've opted to send this one. Let's hope I've made the right choice!

Love all your entries,

James and all ....and when it comes to rock guys, count me in. I saw The Answer recently in Birmingham UK (Led Zep esk), and the AC/DC tribute band down in Salisbury UK. "you've got to rock!" Its okay my friends are the same. You can't do "the dad's dance" to those, you have to rock and get loads of exercise. Please don't think about it.

I love other music too, I listen, but since I can't play I paint

Great surreal entry Doug (munchonu) , that got me thinking ... and all, must go
:

Hope I can get an entry in soon, but I was trying to do a more on brief version, but can't find my image, sorry for now ..

I thought I would try adding some other people but the dreaded perspective loomed! I just can't work out where the horizon is and how I relate it to two people sitting and one standing. I'm sure Steve will advise...
Looking for Brownie points - after last night's webinar I did make each person a Smart Object.

Re: Challenge 377: Play my harp
this is my work this week. I am not very happy with the position of the feet of my characters. I do not think it affects the social, particularly the left.

Thank you emanuelefrau and Deborah.

François, great composition, thanks for being honest, a very small point . Some of us can help with feet blending, but really not a big problem...... errr Steve will comment soon

Re: Challenge 377: Play my harp
Well, Josephine Harvatt really set the bar high this week with a fantastic entry - not just a perfectly-positioned harp player, but a whole orchestra. The tone, colouring and arrangement is perfect for the room. The only thing that bothers me is the extremely tall string trio on the right, at the back. Surely they wouldn't be standing on those antique chairs, would they? I'd cut them out and move them a lot further down.

A very neat fit from Ben Mills, whose harpist's fingers really seem to pluck those strings. Just a couple of questions: why is the whole room lurching to the left like that? I don't remember that lens distortion in the original. And her knees seem too far towards us; I'd have thought there would be one either side (but then I'm no harpist).

Very entertained by GKB's Marx Brothers image, especially the way Groucho has been brought in behind the table. There is, indeed, a slight problem with Chico - but this could have been solved by moving him a little higher, and bringing him more to the foreground (which would explain away the blurriness).

Really great work from brewell, which really made me laugh out loud. I like the way the guys are all arranged around the existing furniture, and their expressions are perfect. My only comment is that the harpist is perhaps a little too small for the harp and the room.

Once again michael sinclair veers off-topic - but it's such a quaint image we can forgive him this one. Ghaddafi in heaven, eh? Not, you know, the other place? Morality aside, I think the shading on his head is just too strong. Yes, I know the light source is on the right, but all that white cloud would reflect an awful lot of it back.

A classical image from Nick Curtain, whose harpist is perfectly fitted to her instrument. In fact, she's pretty damn perfect in just about every way. Was she hard to disentangle from her original harp? Again, I'd be tempted to make her a little larger, but I could be wrong.

There's much to like in tooquilos's cracking entry - the broken glass on the mirror, Morticia Addams, and of course Thing in the box. I like the way Thing climbs around the harp in the animated version. The harp sounds more like a zither, though - and do you mean to tell me YouTube was unable to turn up someone playing the Addams Family theme on a harp? There's a gap in the market there...

Monsters of baroque from zombie67 - and monsters they are, certainly, vast creatures who rather dominate the room. I like the way Alice Cooper's clutching the violin, although if he's standing (as he appears to be) then that table in front of him is much too high. And a clever way to do Ozzy Osbourne's reflection!

Entertaining surrealism from munchonu, with a decidedly fishy theme. I like the fact that it's now set at night, and that eel on the ground is a great addition. Good reflection, too, especially the bent arm in front of the harp.

A terrific requiem from emanuelefrau, with multiple Berlusconis sitting around looking duly reflective. I'm not sure why the two on the left are partly ghosted, though - and I'm also having trouble interpreting the word painted on the mirror, which appears to be "Dimission" - is this right? They do all fill the space well, and that's a very well fitting harpist.

Fantastic work from Artwel, with a gaggle of world leaders in full-on party mode. There's a vast amount of detail here - the opened window, the lit Hotel sign outside, the baseball cap on Obama, the French feathers on the dart in Sarkozy's pocket, the beer cans and joints on the table, the balloons tied to the beer keg in the background, the reflections of the bottles in the mirror, the pizza boxes, the image of Berlusconi pinned to the dartboard... a really packed, hugely enjoyable piece. It's well worth a title for you, but your profile is so empty we know nothing about you. So I think it has to be Satire Supremo based on this image alone. Very good work.

A beautifully faded image from puffin31939, with a sepia-toned harpist neatly slotted into place. Getting rid of the window is an interesting choice: good work losing the curtains as well! The composition in the second entry works rather well - and this is a tricky perspective to get right. Perspective lines are not hard to draw in this instance. Imagine a line going through the harpist's head to the wall: draw it following the angles set by the glazing bars on the window. You should now be able to position the guitarist so his head falls on this line:

A charmingly hand-drawn harpist from BigVern - I didn’t know you had such a flair for cartooning! Great face and hair, comical hands, and I like the Beano-style knobbly elbow. Cute!

A rather ghostly image from Jimbean, with a skeletal audience gathered around a harpist who looks none to pleased to be in this company. The one in the blue dress is standing directly between the harp and the mirror, and I really think she deserves a reflection!

A subtle and rather moving entry from Jota120, with a little girl blended perfectly into the scene. Absolutely charming, Trevor - although I would like to see her other arm as well. Taking the reflection of the harp out of the mirror is one way of dealing with that particular problem!

A surreal scene from Deborah Morley, with a serene figure who's lost her harp - but it appears to have jumped back into the mirror. Or is that mirror now a window into the next room? Some damn clever patching going on here to remove the original harp!

I like Garfield72's two musicians (although the harpist does need a reflection). You're right about the feet position: with her head leaning back on the harp, the flautist's feet would have to be further to the left, I think. Giving them both shadows would help to ground them: they do look a little as if they're floating, here.

Whenever I watch one of James's animations I have to see it several times to catch all the detail. And a huge amount of work has gone into this one: the patching of the scene to remove the harp, the blinking eye, the subtly bowing distortion, the animation of the woman - all of it with matching reflections in the mirror. Glorious! James, I'm constantly amazed by your inventiveness and ingenuity.

Splendid work this week - terrific entries all round.
