Challenge 388: A logo for the Map
This is my first post to the Challenge.
The image was created using vector graphics - only the shadows were painted in.

Re: Challenge 388: A logo for the Map
I tried to make it look like the color portions of the logo was in a clear glass or plastic tube. I wanted to give it a reflected look to it. Only two filters were used: Noise and Gaussian Blur. The rest were a lot of Layer Styles.

Steve, I have a problem uploading my first post to your site. It is about 550x550 pixels and 69kb in size. It's called Logo-Web-Ready.jpg

Mike,

Don't know why your image failed to appear - it seems you did everything right, it just failed to attach itself to your post. I don't check everything first, as it happens - never needed to.

I've fixed it for you now.

Steve

Love the traffic lights idea, and the little blurb next to it, though since there is only one light and not 3 wouldn't that be 66% less raw materials

Thanks Jim and Simon

Simon, maths was never my strength, but you would still need a pole to put it on.

Steve
Thanks for fixing that. I used "Post New Topic" at the top of the page, but now I think that was wrong and the best way is just to reply to your Challenge post and add an attachment and tick "Subscribe to this topic".
Compliments on your book HTCIP CS3. I have read it at least 4 times and regularly use it as a reference. CS3 is fine and I can't justify an upgrade.
Mike.

Mike,

Yes, Reply is the way to do it. Subscribing to a topic means that you'll get an email every time someone posts in that topic (or you should do, it doesn't always work) and is nothing to do with adding an image. You may find the volume of emails either overwhelming or non-existent, depending on whether the forum software is behaving itself.

Glad you've getting good value from the book!

I completely agree with Artwel..an extraordinary assortment of uses for the logo. Fabulous work.

It appears that Photoshop was conceptualised by the ancient Minoans that once lived in the city of Atlantis, situated off the southern coast of Crete. A recent discovery of a 3 metre stone and copper disc supports this theory. The disc has symbols etched in the stone that bare a striking similarity to the tools used today in Photoshop.....

Nice one Anna, like your banner too, I'll have to try one of those myself.
