....uhm... she/he decided to leave to go to colder place after Steve asked him to move (BTW lot of energy in hydrogen )

Sorry I can't do much for a few weeks, just have older laptop and little other access while travel. The poor little thing crashed with PS (error report requested), but I had saved my files.

No lobster, very little perspective and actually did what I was told! Now back to Nintendo!
Anna really like your start image on your video.

Re: Challenge 389: Move the snowman
Apologies for this crudely rushed image, I'm in the middle of animating this but ran out of time! but I'l hopefully finish it by the weekend!.. Umm Obviously Steve didn't make it home because he was too busy fighting crime and chasing down Ice Cream van stealing snowmen! They really are an abomination!
..Steve 'Vigilante' Caplin stars in 'Catch that Snowman!'..

Re: Challenge 389: Move the snowman
This was a tricky Challenge, not least because I gave you so little clear background to work with - so congratulations on managing to rebuild it from almost nothing.

Those of you who chose to include a car had a lot of trouble with its perspective. We're looking down on the scene - I was standing when I took this photo - so we should be able to see the roof of any standard-sized car. But it is hard to find photos from that angle! This is the reason why so few of the car shots look totally convincing.

First up was Ant Snell, with a thoroughly convincing image - a neatly-swept drive, a new window, and even a polished hat for the snowman. I like the broom in his hand. The only thing that stands out here is the amount of perspective on that window: a little extreme, I think, given how far we are from it.

Good rebuilding work from ahmedalij, with a nicely remade background and the beginnings of a swept ground. A couple of points: snow is either there or it isn't - it's never semi-transparent. Don't soften the edges, sweep it away in clumps. And while I like the new window glazing bars, they're much too bright compared to the rest of the window and wall: darken them to match the surroundings.

Very effective rebuilding from Nick Curtain, with an immaculately rebuilt window - and you've even remembered what sort of stone I have outside my house. It's very nicely swept, but is it just too dry-looking? Perhaps a few scrapings of snow left on there would make it more real?

Some rather ornate window bars from Ben Mills - very pretty. I like the fact that you've given me a personalised Rolls Royce - keep buying the books, Ben, and one day I might be able to afford one. But you do need to watch the angle of that car! It looks like it's coming out of an underground garage (now there's an idea...)

Most amused by Jimbean's use of a laser-vision snowman to melt the ice... and the Superman chest plaque really helps. Just a couple of things: shouldn't those laser beams be glowing more? Try a Layer Style combination of Inner Glow and Outer Glow. And is that shocked reaction from me due to the fact that I'm bursting through the window without opening it first?

An entertaining image from brewell, with a peeing snowman who clearly has some prostate issues. I like the hard shadow behind him, which makes him look like he's been caught in headlights: but if we see the shadow on the left, that means the light source is on the right, so the back of the snowman should be in shadow, no?

A curious mixture of tyre tracks and a very faint snowman impression from sutex - almost like those people who find the Virgin Mary in a cut grapefruit. Must admit, I'm not entirely sure where you're headed with this one, Tomasz.

Now, given that GKB is working with a 3D model, there's no excuse for not getting the perspective just right on that car... and yet it doesn’t seem to belong in the scene, it's leaning back too much. Is the perspective really that tricky to see? I like the rebuilt wall, though, and the lit-up room inside - and the reflection on the windscreen is charming. A very much better angle in the second entry, although the car could still be a little higher in the scene. I wonder about that reflection, though: with the nearly vertical windscreen facing us, could it possibly reflect the window behind it?

A cosy scene from Garfield72, with a glowing window and a neatly built wall (although that vine is getting a little re-re-re-re-repetitive). An awkward angle on the car, though; and do you think those headlight beams are perhaps just a touch too yellow?

I enjoyed James's animation of the Snowman's Revenge - amazing that the story can be told just with shadows! But what spindly arms the boy has...

Great snow from bayer2012, who has moved the snowman indoors. A well-constructed scene, and I like the shading from the light - but I don't think that snowman will last the night.

A surreal entry from munchonu, with a beach scene through the window, spectral dragonflies and a floating eye. The car is too side-on, though - needs to be seen more from the top.

Well, Jota120 has certainly moved the snowman - shooting into outer space at the moment. Thanks, Trevor, I can get my car in now. I like the setting in the second entry, but points off for the dodgy feathered cutout!

A neatly cleaned scene from Lorenzo1977, with the snowman about to be set upon by PacMan. I like the shadow, but that yellow is too strong for the scene: tone it down, and it will blend in much more.

Looks like Josephine Harvatt has gone all soppy for Valentine's Day... a charming entry, nonetheless. What's holding the rose up?

A fantastic image from tooquilos, with the snowman beautifully lit on the side of a cleared driveway - and good to see I now have two kitchens. A clever couple of scenes in the animated version - I like the way the snowman turns its back to walk out of the way! When the car hits it and it falls apart, though, er... have you ever actually seen snow in Australia?

A cleared driveway from Deborah Morley, with a new window - all very nicely moved, and a neatly rebuilt wall behind. Perhaps the snowman should flip horizontally, so it's facing in rather than out of the frame?

A splendid clearing-in-progress from joeysala - very nicely thought-out and executed. My only issue here is that the snowman is such a different colour to the snow drift: perhaps brighten it in places to match him?

A very entertaining action scene from Atwel - I like the way the escaping snowman is fighting back with ice cream cones. Cool splats on the windscreen, and a good sense of speed in the Motion Blur background. Er, about your new avatar...

Good work, everyone.

Thanks Steve. Agree about the scrapings and should have thought of that. I had gravel in mind, but Google maps came to the rescue.
