No bikini here would appear to mean 'bikini-less'.

New invention: the water-egg ! (It is easy to have ideas, but to realise them mostly very hard.)

Once seen, can never be unseen ....... we've all been there at one time or another ......

That's one tough sub!!

But superbly done! Gorgeous!

It is interesting to speculate what an underwater explosion would look like. Would there be tons of bubbles and stuff? I truly haven't a clue.

Perhaps our resident military expert will be able to enlighten us .....

Re: Challenge 661: It's all mine
Going through Google Images, looking for inspiration, I found a multitude of different uses for this particular mine but the most unusual one was the baby pram! If I had seen that when my kids were babies..that would of been the pram of choice!

Thank you David No, we build them pretty tough in Oz! I wondered that myself about what an underwater explosion would look like..I assumed there would be some type of charge and turbulence of the sea particles and sand. But I could be totally wrong. Next time I’m skin diving in Manly, Ill take my GoPro and a few explosives and test it out..we will know for sure then

On the basis of a quick google DON'T!! The shock waves even from small charges would cause serious injury if not death.

There is no footage of military underwater explosions except those of the water spout taken from the surface. The reason being, I am sure, that the shock waves in dense water would almost certainly destroy any underwater camera close enough to get the shot.

There is a lovely little mini demonstration here. It's really fascinating!!

It's hilarious! ......... but I'm not sure you'd think that when you had to push it uphill!

That was a fascinating video. Very impressive watching the explosion at 120,000fps. I want that camera!! So it does create a charge…Interesting.

I shot this underwater scene using a GoPro camera, this past summer, at Manly Beach. It was 120fps. Interesting going through the footage and seeing how the light interacted with the rocks and the shadows and reflections created.

Won't give any comments from that perspective. So take these as you wish:
According to my understanding a mine when it explodes will create an enormous hydrostatic shock wave, as water is not compressible, I won't comment further, inappropriate.

Ok one deviation, you've seen/heard how some "fishermen" catch fish, they drop a hand grenade into to the water and kills the fish instantly by hydrostitic pressure (they are full of water like us)

Yes it's lovely when light gets rippled like that. Makes everything seem to move.

I once shot 'underwater' with children in a completely dry studio set before the days of digital post. We did the same rippled light effect by pointing a very powerful light down into a large shallow tank of agitated water filled with broken mirror in the bottom. This reflected broken rippling light upwards which was then reflected back down by a huge mirror suspended over the set so it appeared to be light coming downwards though the surface. Build up a very light haze of smoke to reduce visibility and capture the moving beams and it's surprisingly convincing. Lastly put a very thin (1") fish tank with tiny little fishes in it between the camera and the set, shoot in slow motion and the illusion is complete!

It's not only Photoshop we learn to cheat in ......

This is really off topic but by one of those odd chances that occur I was looking for a card today to put with a present and found this little piece of fifties memorabilia. Now that would have been my pram of choice. A baby Cadillac! Only thing missing is headlamps!

What a set up! When you say a very thin 1” tank..do you mean 1” of glass thickness?
