Wow Gordon. That's some serious animation there ..........

Thanks David. i can't take all the credit as the dinos were all available as green screen footage.

Loved the marketing concepts.

I thought the dinosaurs were great, but this is awesome!!

As an aside... a number of years ago one of my aunts did some family history research and traced it back to a paternal ancestor who came to the USA from Wales in 1798... he was listed on the passenger list as a 'whiskey maker'.

Thanks Loyd. Can’t take the credit for the opening as that’s a BBC opening for the BBC Wales news programme ... I’m not sure if you can receive that in Oklahoma

Bigfoot was my original idea but it quickly transmogrified into Jurassic Park. With the idea already in my head I just had to put it together.

And, of course, Loyd is a derivative of Lloyd which is a derivative of Llwyd from the Welsh ... so you really are a Welsh boyo.

This is an animation (wait for the 3-second delay). I have used the original tree with two of the unusual branches; one of which has been skinned for a snake.

Update: movement of snake tidied up a bit

More than one might think Gordon, I share the full name (sans one L) with this guy: here ...I had the name well before him.

Mr. Sinclair's snake made me think of the Commotions...

The BBC is available in Oklahoma, but is at a premium cable price.

Edit: To make the world even smaller, in the mid-80s' I dated a girl from England. Joann was here on a work visa, but she grew homesick and returned home when her visa expired. To the best of my memory, she lived in, as she described it, a small, rural costal town... I have no recollection of it's name.

For some reason I have had to reduce this image to a very low resolution to get it under 122kb. and before you ask, no I am not on any new medication - yet!

Re: Challenge 716: A curious tree
The first image JPEG shows the curious tree against a two-image composite.

The next image is an animation with the same tree covered in moss which is blowing in the wind...weird

A lot of work gone into this and the snake. Impressive!

It's to do with the way JPG compression works. The more complex the image the less well it will compress. Large areas of similar coloured pixels such as blue sky will compress well. Images with lots of variation from one pixel to the next will compress less well. I am sometimes astonished by the differences when I compress my images for here.

Re: Challenge 716: A curious tree

Such brilliant entries so far! David’s elephant..Gordon’s Bigfoot..Loyd’s creepy forest.

Josephine, is that from Narnia? Michael, the snake is wonderful. Very well done.

It was a Blood Moon here early hours of Saturday. I dragged myself out of bed to see it and wasn’t disappointed. It was amazing to see. So as result, my challenge was inspired by the Blood Moon.

David, thank you for explaining this. I often have a similar issue and can never quite understand where Im going wrong.

Beautifully done Anna.

Unfortunately we had complete cloud cover for the first time in over two months that night so most people in the south east of England didn't get to see the red moon. Had it been the previous night it would have been spectacular as there were some very nice looking clouds that would have made a beautiful background; or do I mean foreground?

Anna - not Narnia, but a "wood near Athens" and a Midsummer's Night 's Dream. I too saw the potential for a harp but thought "Nah way too difficult"!
