Thanks to all for your comments. I hope it raised a smile.

Anna that's fantastic: it's the best I've ever seen from you. It truly is a very polished work of art. It's the Gold Star for you then

Now have you tried Photoshop's animated GIF program?

Frank, really clever idea. I love the colours too.

Loyd, I recoiled when I saw the rats! One of my greatest phobias. My son had one as a pet now he has snakes and he feeds them rats. I never visit him when it's feeding day !

Thank you Michael! That's were it all began..Photoshops animated GIFs! It was one of your gifs many many years ago..Something to do with Steve doing a highland fling holding someone while dancing. It was after that I started making gifs!! I remember thinking, wow, I need to learn how to do this!!

Its one of the first ones that Ive done combining just about every media available. Still images, Pixelsquid images, video and making 3D objects. Im glad that you think it all the elements come together fairly convincingly.

Thanks Loyd and Anna, some good and funny entries as usual this week. Michael, I see you and I had a somewhat similar theme, nicely done although your crab may be subject to a too saturated comment?

Nicely done Michael. Love the transparency of the glass.

Thanks Frank. Yes. Great minds think alike? I too thought the crab was a little overcooked but then I thought "artistic licence!"

Thanks Gordon. Getting the transparency to look right was one of the more difficult parts of this composition.

Re: Challenge 757: Darwin's octopus
I thought the pickled mermaid that I saw at Brighton Museum many years ago would make a suitable companion. Sadly I couldn’t find any photos of it online. Only the Fiji one which looks completely different.. so this’ll have to do for now…
