After park management decided to 'go green' and banned the spraying of all pesticides, the mosquito population has skyrocketed. ![]() |

Anna - The bug is great... and the leg movements (walking) work very well. Very cute! |

No time this week for an animation. You'll just have to imagine what I would have done given the still. ![]() _________________ I'm still learning. |

Re: Challenge 769: Police dog
First to call the police this week was Ant Snell, with a satirical take on dogging - a really funny idea, perfectly executed. I like the grinning dog in the foreground, and that police notice is a great realistic addition. Did you draw the road sign yourself? It’s the varying hand positions that makes lwc's entry so entertaining - and the teeth, of course. Sad to report that we don’t have those fire hydrants in the UK. A finely animated second entry, with great arm and leg movement from the police dog. A fun Royal cameo in the third entry. Do US police motorcyclists really wear those jackboots? A great gag in the fourth entry - and a tremendous swarm, beautifully realised. A very spooky fifth entry, complete with scary clown - and a guest appearance from the Creature from the Black Lagoon, no less. A beautifully composed entry from DavidMac, with excellent lighting. I particularly like the side lighting on the dog, and the back light on the burglar. Hard to believe he could have swagged much in that ruined building, though. A rather touching second entry, with the dog made jobless by automation: a complex story told in a concise manner. I like the subtle police belt on the dog. I hope you realise, GKB, that the Banana Splits theme tune is going to be stuck in my head for the next couple of weeks. Good to see the gang back together, with their new minder. And his teeth. A rare excursion into satire from Mariner, with the dog costume neatly modified to fit our new Prime Monster. I like the clever text changes. I’d have put the head on the bench behind him - rather than poking up from the bottom of the frame, where it could be mistaken for another dog. Dog meets dog in Eva Roth’s neatly composed entry. I like the smudging of the grass over the foreground figures. A ground shadow would make all the difference here, and perhaps drop that leg a little: ![]() I literally laughed out loud at Josephine Harvatt’s entry - the funniest thing I’ve seen all year. Not a lot of photoshopping, perhaps, but a brilliant gag. A somewhat forlorn-looking police dog behind bars from tooquilos. Small point: I’d have distorted either the front bars or the corridor behind it so that their perspectives match. An extraordinary animated version, with some intricate 3D net motion as it captures the bug. I like the toy police car - cool flashing lights - and the imprisoned bug at the end. But - that soundtrack! Bring back the heavy metal! An oversized pest from srawland, with a great expression on Trump and a fine choice of body. I like the dog hiding round the corner. But what’s that in Trump’s hand? |

Yes, I did consider that, but then I would probably have had to invent a body. I also thought of giving Sajid Javid a new head. We all know that that would considerably improve his looks! Thanks Steve, welcome back. |

Re: Challenge 769: Police dog
Don't you know that, according to the movies, all police chases have to have the final showdown in an abandoned building somewhere .......
I really enjoyed it. Creating both dogs was fun too.
The dog is British and non white. I think we may safely assume it's his immigration permit. Thanks Steve. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

The fire hydrant issue popped into my head early on, but then I promptly forgot about it. ![]() Most but not all wear the jackboots. A fun WC! Thanks Steve... ![]() |
