Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
A bit busy this week working on some animations so this rehash of an old post will have to do.

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
I was going to put DUREXMAN in the animation, but it would have pushed out the aesthetics of the image.

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
I had an epiphany! I turned bubbleman's head (from the original image) into a blackberry ( taking care to create highlights), then filled an empty basket with them. On topic then!

UPDATED TO AN ANIMATION

No worries Michael. In the animation it's hidden underwater.

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
I laughed out loud at Ben Mills’s bikini entry - a hugely entertaining joke. Love the lipstick!

A fun sci-fi entry from lwc, with a spinning bubbleman with neatly added arms and legs. The colour change panels work remarkably well, too. Perhaps a reflection needed on the inside of the glass windows?

A touch of politics from DavidMac, with Boris about to puncture the NHS bubbleman. Very nicely put together, David, and right on the button. The ghastly pun in the second entry is saved by a fine image: I especially like the reflection of the bubbleman in the display case.

A painstaking riposte to Ben Mills’s entry from Mariner, with a woman composed entirely of bubbles. Very fine colour matching, even if she does look a little warty.

Gorgeous work from Josephine Harvatt, with a bubbly bride for our bubbleman. I’m struggling to imagine what this was created for in the first place.

I enjoyed Born2Run's jogging bubbleman, trailing his string of balloons. Best of all is the inflatable tree in the background. Not tempted to include an inflatable pub?

A neatly constructed puzzle box from Frank; the inclusion of the bubbleman on the side of the box is a nice touch. An immaculately created animated version - those sounds really help, don’t they. Terrific, Frank.

Glorious work from GKB, with the bubbleman - sorry, bubblewoman, unless I’m being too gender-stereotypical - together with the Michelin Man. Very nicely done. Looks like she got legless on her hen night. Still, it’s all armless stuff.

An extraordinary image from tooquilos, featuring a human figure built of bubbles: beautifully made, with a real sense of presence in the jar. A great story in the animated version, with a whole range of bubbly special effects. I really like how you’ve made him walk at the end. Spectacular.

Plenty of extra bubbles from Ant Snell, with a floating bubbleman: the dark colour does make him look rather heavy, though. It shouldn’t make a difference, but it does.

So michael sinclair saw this week’s Challenge, and thought the perfect solution was a naval gunboat on choppy waters. Curious. (I loved DavidMac's answer.) Still, at least the second entry has a vaguely bubbly feel to it, even if the bubbles are really blackcurrants.

Oh my goodness me! Well I never did. Even multiple exclamation marks fail me!!!!

Perhaps I should try it. I could even get to put letters after my name "David Macdonald CBA" - Certified Balloon Artist!

Really! I kid you not!!!

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
Thanks Steve. Good simple fun this week. With limited time it was good just to enjoy myself.

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
Steve can I correct you on two points: first, they are blackberries not blackcurrents. second, the blackberry came directly from bubbleman's head, and was then processed into blackberries. I personally thought this was an innovative, clever, and creative use of bubbleman; moreover, as usual, I put a lot of effort into the animated creation. I'm disappointed that you thought my entry was not worthy of any praise.

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
Thank you Steve I struggled with this one, initially. Changing the pink bubbles to clear was the challenge for me. I can't be certain of the exact steps now but I know it involved the Blending Options and alt clicking on the left triangle, splitting it and sliding it along. Then there was an invert image layer and a variety of blending modes!

Thanks Steve. Yes, I thought about a reflection... but then did nothing about it.

Re: Challenge 784: Bubbleman
Thanks again Steve, I thought about an inflatable pub but then imagined what it would be like trying to carry a couple of pints back from the bar!
