The wash basin conundrum

Steve's feet are sore from walking. He wants to give them a nice warm soak. Can you help him fill the basin with just the right temperature?

Been playing too many computer games ............

Thanks David...

I'm not sure how to make it better, the speed? I'm open for suggestions.

In this up-dated version, I made the overflow denser, added some splashes, doubled the number of frames in an attempt to make it smoother, added speed and modified timing to the parrot on the left.

Infrared gif animations can be a pain to work with.

Better or worse...?

This is a "three-framer": the original image was elongated to fit the bottom of the page/image, then for the second frame I "flipped horizonal, and finally, I "Flipped Vertical". A lot of "fine" adjustments ensued.

PS Ironically, the "option" of creating running water gave me the opportunity to actually enjoy doing both entries...well...yeah...alright...

I not convinced that a spillover would break up into droplets like that. Unlike a tap, it's simply flowing over an edge without any real pressure behind it. I wonder if it would actually be more of a solid unbroken curtain?

This is pure speculation on my part. Absolutely no expertise of any kind is being applied here.

Edited: Just been looking at Michael's animation. I think the 'coherence' of the water is exactly right.

I think this is astonishingly good Michael. See my comment to Loyd above.

UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE

Thanks for your initial comment David, without it I would never have been motivated to make any more adjustments to the animation.

I experimented with it a bit and decided that the overflow was only slight. I was able to modify an effect to create a small 'drip-drip' overflow as shown here... I am happy with this one, at least it's good enough for the girls I go with.

Yes Loyd. I find that much more convincing. Really good.

Such great and imaginative work this week. Loyd, both of yours are very peaceful, just beautiful. Josephine, I'll suggest this look to my dog groomer. Love it. David, love the concept - brilliant.

I've used a couple of my own images and creations this week. The cabin and the cave are from a trip recently to Jenolan Caves, Sofala and Hill End.

And lots of 3D too. Lot of work hidden in there Anna. Very nice!

Lots of nice work from everyone again. Good to see you making good use of Cinema Anna.

Sorry I haven't come out to play much recently; been busy with various different projects including one that Nick Curtain challenged me to but that is some way from completion.

Going on my hols to the 'frozen north' (of England) so you will all have to fend for yourselves for a while.

Re: Challenge 821: The wash basin
Having learned a few new tricks while making the IR version, I decided to make a third entry in color. I also further refined the faucet water, added more birds, and insects... you will probably need to watch it for several loops to spot them all. For some strange reason I keep seeing the basin as a 'birdbath'...

It is, unless I am mistaken, quite rare to see political statements from you Ant. This is just spot on ...... and very well done!

Florence is turning in her grave ...........
