Loyd, of course you must move the background. it just shows that I am not into animation. Well done!

Lovely Gordon. Clever to re-scale like that. Hearing that music brings back memories. But that does seem a rather callous or careless Captain cruising past and ignoring the SOS.

Michael, when I saw your polar bear, I thought for a moment you had done a rare off topic until I spotted how cleverly you have repurposed the island. Took me while.

Grim and lovely .......

Well done... bonus points for using the 'real' James Bond.

I could only find close ups where he was recognisable. Most of his body was always missing. I had to 'build' him by combining two quite different diver pictures. It proved much harder than I expected.

Re: Challenge 826: The desert island
Michael, I hope you don't mind me pointing out that "Cut and Paste" into another image has to look that it was always part of the image, so to accomplish this one must "Feather" the two images (the guy and bear) by two or three pixels as I have done here: Control-click image, select Refine image, and feather it by a few pixels and then select New layer. I also took the liberty of altering the hue of the polar bear to reflect the surroundings more accurately. I'm sure the site owner would have pointed this out to you too.

I think I could probably tolerate being marooned here .............

Thank you Gordon for giving me the idea to cheat the scale.

Re: Challenge 826: The desert island
A few seconds after the tail rotor let go, Harvey felt fortunate to be also 'only' marooned.

Not "on brief" but I don't get many opportunities to use a helicopter.

...... and when the tail rotor 'lets go' it gets a lot nastier than that.

Re: Challenge 826: Question for Steve
Is this 'found' or photographed Steve? The quality is far, far lower than your usual postings. I am having to soften every single element I add to get it to blend with the original - otherwise it sticks out like a crisp sore thumb.

Not really complaining ........... it makes my usual technique of 'fudging' much easier.

Wow Schloss Neuschwanstein transposed to a desert island. Shouldn't you have some swans swimming around?
Did you know that this castle was the inspiration for the Disney castle? Not a lotta people know that

Re: Challenge 826: The desert island
Yes, Mariner, I think they are cormorants also. I see them quite often near the beach airing their wings. I don't know why they do it but it looks really majestic.

Loyd, I love the "imagination run amuck" image!

David, I'm very partial to underwater scenes and this one nails it. What I love most about it was how the image reveals more of itself as you scroll down. It felt like I was being actually submerged into the water.
