Between the lens distortion and trying to incorporate Napoleon into it; then trying to create a reasonably coherent storyline - it's been a hell of a challenge! I think I got there in the end?!?

Well done to all that have completed this challenge.

Happy New Year everyone

Well done! Love the ageing. It somehow helps with the other problems relating to her.

Off brief ....... but not, perhaps, inappropriate
Taking the original to its logical conclusion.

Before we enter into another of those interminable discussions about what goes on in glass balls and bubbles this is optically invalid and inaccurate.

But I am calling it 'artistic license'.

If you take away his army, marshals, horse, and uniform, then Napoleon could pass for anyone.

The first example is a static image, and the second is an animation, and again wait five seconds for change of expression.

I think the most difficult part of this was the endless tinkering with the mouth to get it to look right. Hopefully I did a reasonably good job in the short time I had for this Challenge.

Steve, I would like to say my own personal thanks for your efforts in 2020. I think the Friday Challenge has helped enormously over the last few, fraught months.

Great work from everyone and looking forward to 2021.

It is quite astonishing how completely ordinary he looks in this guise.

Yes I have, David. I managed to stretch this out for nearly two weeks.

The Vicar of Dibley is a sitcom starring Dawn French which caused some controversy at Xmas as the eponymous Vicar "took a knee" in support of anti racism. here she is unapologetically making a banner,
In true cheat fashion I have dispensed with both the original face and the horrible background

Actually its George Floyd whose death at the hands of the police sparked the BLM movement but very pixellated so an easy mistake

Oh dear. How stupid of me ..... I just assumed without really looking.

Having now looked up a bit about this episode I understand.

Re: Challenge 837: Here's to 2021
Happy new year, HotChippers!

First to tackle the perspective problem was lwc, with a terrific animation - excellent colouring action, and the snowfall is beautiful. I like the vignette effect. And a splendid new year card!

Hard to see Napoleon in michael sinclair’s entry, but it does win the prize for the most off-topic entry of the year. I like how the cheek changes shape for the wink. Surprising how ordinary Boney looks in the second entry, although he does look suitably pious in the third entry.

A fine entry from JimH, with a new background and a good Lego house - but it’s the woman’s replacement face that really does it for me, a great substitution. A touch more brightness to remove the five o’clock shadow wouldn’t go amiss. Still planning to come to the UK? Let us know if you make it over!

Good work from Vibeke, with an excellent rebuilt head. Some curious perspective on the table, but then it was a bizarre perspective to start with!

I’m sorry DavidMac didn’t enjoy this one - but it’s a very fine solution, with a great match from the new background. The nail painting is a clever reinterpretation of the scene. Good work, David. And I really enjoyed the second entry - but that’s not you in the reflection!

A fun entry from tooquilos, with a colourful new woman (I like the tattoo) and great additions. Good movement in the animated version, with Santa gliding past on what looks like a very stormy night. Happy new year, indeed.

I enjoyed GKB's Christmas-themed entry, with the boy making Christmas cards. A good stab at the woman’s head, but is the lipstick a little too strong?

I’m amazed once again at Mariner's tenacity and eye for detail. A fantastic reconstruction of the original scene, and the Monopoly board is a great choice. Fabulous.

Outstanding work from Josephine Harvatt: the components fit together perfectly, and that’s a strong political message, with George Floyd gazing in from the wall. Spot on, Josephine.

Good work everyone!
