Not the bereavement - the little one. He's seriously cute! He manages to be mammoth and yet childlike at the same time. I don't know if that was your intention but it's absolutely how he comes across to me - lost little boy!

I don't know why I presume he - it could equally be she - but, somehow, he has a somewhat masculine air.

Michael great lighting: I love it! take a look at the super sharp line where the grass stops and the trees begin. A quick dab of the Blur tool ought to do the trick

Just look at that faultless legwork. A five framer!

David, it's the size of the skull that points to the age of the young one, and I think his topknot, tusks, and untidy look turn him into a boy.

Thank you, Michael. Quite right about the sharp line. This entry was only meant to be a quickie and my heart was not really in it. I am expecting my next attempt to be better.

Thank you all for your comments and well wishes

Michael, I like the way the mammoth bends its front legs and the slight kick in the foot. Very well done Great work everyone

Works perfectly if you sing along with "Nellie The Elephant".

Very nicely done Michael.

Michael seeing your elephant animation, which cannot have been easy to achieve, made me think of this. To my untrained eye it looks as if animators would find it quite useful. Sorry I don't have it bigger.

I can't tell you that, it's just one of the optional animations in my animation software.

This might appeal to you (and others). On my wall hangs an unusual print of sequential pictures of a naked athlete putting the shot.

It is an original print from Animal Locomotion published in 1887 by Edweard Muybridge..

I acquired it for peanuts in an auction when I was in my late twenties. Early photography was still not particularly valued back then. It is now! I don't think I could easily contemplate acquiring it now. It gives me great pleasure and is of particular interest to me because it was largely his work that gave rise to the invention of motion pictures in the USA.
