Really nice David, great overall deco look!

Very literal minded but it's the kind of challenge I love. The hardest part was finding 40's people. I cheated quite a bit there.

Re: Challenge 858: Bingo
Gordon, Loyd, and David wonderful work

It seems to have become a cliché, but this actually has been the most difficult thing I have ever undertaken: three days in the making. I had to import a fresh set of wheels, then adjustments for ellipsis and perspective, not to mention "wheel rotation" and other adjustments. I then had to import a driver and re-glaze the cab afterword.

PART ONE: Sinclair demolition Inc has risen to the challenge and is on the job. Is...is...that petrol/gasoline I can smell ?

PART TWO: will come when I have recovered from mental exhaustion

This is a three framer

David many thanks for noticing that crucial point, Now corrected.

Great stuff, David, especially the art deco foyer, and the people, who all fit well except maybe for Dustin Hoffman in the foreground, who is too short and looks stoned. Well done with those steps. They are quite tricky.

The unexpected elephant coming out of the building is great, Loyd but I love the sign flying towards us and the tornado. Brilliant.

Gordon, the destruction of the building is so realistic. Very well done.

David, you have done the old building justice. Beautifully restored. So much atmosphere in your image.

Michael, I laughed at the "teaser" leading up to the explosion!

I found this one quite difficult, my head just wasn't in the right frame of mine.

Michael for a three framer that's remarkable. Can't wait for the next bit.

Re: Challenge 858: Bingo
Michael it's not Dustin although I agree the resemblance is uncanny. He's from a German retro fashion catalogue. Somehow I doubt he models for those.

I was having such difficulty finding forties people with any kind of decent resolution that I used him anyway. And looking at the photos I get the impression he is short, but truth to tell there's no way of knowing.

I know that feeling only too well. Some weeks they just flow and others it's like pulling teeth..

I see you went the deco route too. I love what you have done with the exterior especially the curved steps and lights.

Forgot to mention, Michael, the reflections in the chrome aren't moving.

Great Idea Gordon, and really well done. Both the still and the video.

Sometime in the late forties ....... the war is over and the new Brandon Odeon opens its doors to the public for the first time.

Best viewed away from strong light.
Beautifully done

Pub Trivia: The distinctive deco design of many of Britain's Odeon cinemas came from the architect Harry Weedon. I remember them clearly from my childhood. Ninepence (about 4p) Saturday morning children's two hour programme. Roy Rogers and Trigger, Flash Gordon, Rin Tin Tin, Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry. It was utter chaos. The staff were saints and put up with us with great good grace.

Re: Challenge 858: Bingo
Not at all David: you were doing your duty, and I'm much obliged; moreover, it would have been cruel not to have told me, so now you have deprived the "site owner" of that perfunctory duty of informing me.

Now that is one serious crater!

You took me by surprise. I hadn't expected the bomb. When you hinted at petrol smells earlier on I thought you were going to crash the tanker into the building.

Re: Challenge 858: Bingo
Very nice Michael. I really like the new street setting and the elderly gent taking a nap.

I think, that as with my first entry, the only thing we left of the original image is the main brick surround and the canopy flashings!
