Vibeke. Not only did you put the tea cosy to good use but you seem to have found a pattern for it that is a quite extraordinarily good match!

As for "Mother's Ruin", I had huge difficulty finding decent figures from the period (particularly in colour) that weren't posed ad photos looking directly in the camera. You have done really well.

If only I had a euro for every time I have done that!

...and you didn't catch me.

Like David, I struggled trying to find decent characters for use in the kitchen. You did very well with your finds... very nice!

Thank you, you are quite right I think I spent more time on goggle than in photoshop.

Fabulous work from all this week but the overflowing pots on the stove is a gem A nosy neighbour was my inspiration for this week's challenge

Lovely entries everybody. Very funny David!

Hats off to those that thrived, against all odds.

London is burning - 1940.

Shoo, it looks really dark here. Not like that on my screen.

Re: Challenge 860: The 1940s kitchen
It's really dark here too Dennis. The left side of the image is just short of total black. If I take it into PS and lift the shadows I can see what you were trying to do, but it looks flabby and flat. I think you need some serious adjustment. If it looks OK on your monitor then have you checked the calibration? It may be set too bright. Both Windows and Mac have built in apps for calibration. They are only approximate but well worth doing every so often.

Dennis - It's really dark for me too... I still like it though.

Mariner - Very nice... and your mouse is bigger than my mouse (not moose)!

Thanks Loyd. That's because it's a rat, not a mouse! I like your boiling pan. Very good!
