Serious lack of time this week as I am just about to go off to Scotland for a couple of weeks to do battle with the midges.

I thought that something quite surreal would fit this week; so here is surreal!

Great work David--especially the atmospheric graveyard: you got that dead right!

Nice work Dennis

I couldn't get along with this--sorry

Watch out for five the five second pauses in the animation

Re: Challenge 861: St Francis
Yes Michael, the painting and trees really complement each other so well.

I don't know David. 2D can complement 3D and vice-versa. Depends how I feel and what the subject is. I added a lot of form to the surface of St Francis. Not that you can notice it in my first 2 images so I rendered a close up so that you can see it better. I added fly away hair off the edges of the clothing and added the wolf and dove. then I manipulated those images to try and match the mood of the render.

Both wolf and dove are in day light. In fact, the dove was extremely white with subsurface surface scattering illuminating the wings and body very brightly.

Together PS and a decent 3D render engine can produce wonderful images, in the right hands. I'm trying to find those hands...

Wonderful work this week.

Michael, while waiting for your animation to start I wondered what the fate of St Francis was going to be. I was relieved he ascended to heaven peacefully rather than blow up.

Dennis, I love the dove and wolf. I knew about the dove symbolism but was unaware of the wolf reference until I looked it up. St Francis and the wolf of Gubbio. Very subtle but beautiful.

Loyd, David the wolves in your entries now makes sense to me. I have learnt something today

Gordon, have fun in Scotland!

Thanks Anna.

That wolf story was compliments of David. I never knew about it either.

This is the dove I used in my last

Another atmospheric video from Anna, and an enchanting version of Wish you were here which I have never heard before.

Love the chess pieces Michael and the madness Loyd.

Michael (Mariner) it's the brightly coloured straws that make this!! What a great touch!
