Michael that is terrific; might be your best work yet.

I decided not to go down the restoration route with this one and thought that the 3D route was a better idea (hint: no it wasn't). I was very much in two minds about whether to post this or not as time and life in general were not on my side this week. But here it is despite all its multitude of faults.

Lovely stuff guys. As per usual, I have bitten to deep and will not complete this one although I really loved trying to model the station. It was too big an order and although I have finished the modelling, the scene is still rendering and will only be done tomorrow. I have not yet populated the scene with figures.

Thanks Frank and Gordon

Yes, Gordon, I think it is one of my best works, given the amount of time I spent on it.

After rendering for over 12 hours, it has not reach 1% yet, on the ridiculous settings I gave the image. With over 60 lights, Iray is bouncing rays all over the place. A long way from Photoshop-ping it yet, let alone posing characters for the scene.

Doubt this one will ever get finished. It's to resourceful hungry. Pity.

Happy belated birthday Sensei.

Re: Challenge 930: The Flying Scotsman
First to steam into King’s Cross this week was Ant Snell, with a splendid reconstruction of the station at exactly the right angle. The addition of Harry Potter is a bonus, although I’d question the flying Scotsman’s choice of footwear.

A ghostly presence from Ben Boardman, with a great view of the station from a very similar angle. I do like all those white figures. My only comment would be that the perspective of the train seems a little extreme, given its distance from the camera.

A fine train in motion from michael sinclair, with excellent piston rod action. Adding an extra frame for the wheels might avoid the slight pulsation movement. Now if only you could add a King’s Cross background…

Superb work from Frank, clearing the pedestrians to afford a good view of the train - with terrific blending of the new train with the one in the original photo. And I really like that you’ve used the same passengers, enlarged at the front. Excellent work!

A hand-polished station from Mariner, with a lot of rebuilding work. The new train fits perfectly on the platform, and those buskers add a good foreground element. Most impressed with the rebuilding of the left and right walls! Expertly done, Michael.

I see GKB has been playing with 3D again - both for the train and for the station itself, which appears to have shrunk down to just two platforms. Nicely repurposed passengers, and I like how the steam comes through the railings. That trolley in the foreground is at a very odd perspective!

It’s great to see dwindt's work in progress, which looks like an extraordinary model - as far as I can see in the dark. 60 lights? No wonder the render is taking so long. Hope you can get it finished eventually.

Thanks Steve, the train perspective didn't seem right, but couldn't quite see it. Looking again now I can. Enjoyed the challenge. Happy belated birthday from Down Under.

Thanks Steve. It is dark. I wanted to try and create an old fashion mood in PS afterwards. It's just to big to complete rendering.
