David, Loyd, Gordon, I have been following your debate with interest. As I am out of my league on this subject I refrained from comment. If it helps, here is something which gives a clue on perspective:

Well basically Michael it boils down to 'Loyd is right'.

Thanks Michael, it helped me as I was unsure about the size relationship of people to the cage-like barriers.

Originally finishing at 180 frames and more than 52mb, getting it optimized to under twenty mb for up-loading was a challenge in itself. Lot's going on, you may have to watch it for several loops to see everything. All characters courtesy of PhotoShop London.

Wow ..... that's a lot of cutting out Loyd - foreground and background and everyone animated subtly!

Keep em comin Loyd.

The Labours of Hercules: A Michael Sinclair "on topic" production.

I reconstructed a panel from Steve's original image, and--as the good book says--followed the injunction of "Go forth and multiply"

NOTE: five-second pause at beginning

NOTE 2: I did my level best to get the perspective right; however, let me know if...

Well this has been my week for getting it wrong, but it looks damn good to me Michael.

Michael. I am curious. Was this, by any chance, provoked by the Korean video I posted in off topic a few days ago?

Re: Challenge 953: The roadworks cage
No it wasn't, in answer to your question David. I have always found Asian female military marching to be most fascinating particularly the North Korean. It is an art form or musical ballet that is both endearing (cute) and aesthetically pleasing--maybe an acquired taste; moreover, I think it might be also something you might appreciate. The main problem I encountered was the "lack" of this material, and also the lack of fixed camera positions which make it difficult to use Mr ex-film director!

Re: Challenge 953: The roadworks cage
To be honest my experience of such things is limited to opening ceremonies of Olympics in Asian countries and odd clips I have stumbled across from tie to time. It is not an 'art form' that I have consciously sought out. I am afraid I have always found synchronised military somewhat sinister, so I cannot pretend to be the least bit knowledgeable on the subject.

Given my ignorance I really cannot comment on lack of fixed camera positions, but I am surprised. I find that odd. I would expect it to be the kind of thing that cries out for fixed positions.

Anyway, very nicely done Michael.

That's hilarious, Josephine! It was the most obvious thing and yet we all missed it. Perfect
