Fun entries this week but the car wash tops them. But then again, I do love the steampunk carriage

The coronation of King Neptune was happening at the same time but very few noticed it

Good one Gordon - roads just like ours, maybe I should consider new tires.
Love it Josephine
Good one Michael S. - pink and gold seem to match
Great idea Mariner - and very well done - certainly outside the box
Good ones Loyd- like your steampunk
Lovey Anna, very colourful

Difficult subject I thought - wasn't going to post partly due to time.

Great work everybody particularly Mariner and Loyd--the two front runners.

Re: Challenge 954: The coronation coach
First to step into the royal coach was lwc, with an explosive transformation. I like the detail of the coach decal on the door, and the crown on the front. And the angle match is good. I was very entertained by the gold flying saucer – very cute. I like the view from Parliament Hill, with the subtle background movement, although your perspective is seriously off when it comes to the horizon level. I enjoyed the steampunk entry, too, with its intricate rotations, although I did wonder if the whole thing should roll on and off.

GKB's enormous potholes are remarkably convincing, and the solution – huge tyres – absolutely compelling. The reflection in the right hand pothole is a nice touch, although I’m not sure that we should be able to see reflected sky above it. Good stuff.

Museum time for Mariner, and I see Wikipedia has come to your aid with the signs. It’s a remarkably good fit, the gilt matching the picture frames. George III seems a little out of place there, though – he’s too bright, and his shading needs to match the lighting direction on the coach. Also, your plinth really needs some texture to stop it looking like plastic; and I find softening the hard edges with a small highlight always adds to the sense of it being a real object:

The
car wash
entry is glorious, the horses a perfect match for the coach, even if they do cast a curiously elliptical shadow.

Splendid work from Josephine Harvatt, and I really like the idea of Chuck as a used car salesman. Perfect choice of bodies, done with great subtlety.

A remarkable conversion from michael sinclair, who’s added elements of the state coach to a pink-and-gold roller that even Lady Penelope would find in poor taste. Boris at the wheel, though? Why? And that’s a remarkably business-oriented crowd.

A subsea Greek ruin from tooquilos, with the coach subsumed by what appears to be a giant snail shell. I like the motion in the animated version, although there’s a curious scale mismatch when Neptune appears behind the carriage. The whale movement is splendid.

Frank's drone coach really builds up expectation as we fly into London – and I like how it flies in, complete with Chas and Camilla inside. Producing smoke, though? Couldn’t they have spring for an electric coach? Very entertaining.

Thank you Steve for taking time to do a correction. I agree with everything you say about the museum entry. It was just laziness on my part which left it in a slightly unfinished state.
I was hoping to get away with the horses eliptical shadow. Maybe next time!

"Perspective?"... never gave it a thought. I was mainly trying experiments in creating a parallax view.

Thought about it, but then would lose the transparency of the 'windscreen', and I was just too lazy to animate the wheels.

Many thanks Steve, another fun challenge.

Cheers Steve - I was lucky to have a good choice of profiles of both Chazzer and Sunak
