Re: Challenger 958: The flood wall
As will be pretty obvious by now I am treating this as a very focused technical exercise and trying to do nothing more at this point than add water that works and looks real. I'm trying for "if you didn't know, would you spot it?"

Still all 100% hand work at this point. Once again about two hours work.

Hope to develop this challenge further in the week and try some AI too.

Beautiful work David, being mistaken for Anna is a compliment.

Re: Challenger 958: The flood wall
Here's my last 'done only by hand' entry. Bit depressing sorry, but I wanted to really ring the changes. It was harder than the others and took about three hours.

Next couple of days are busy so will play with AI mid week. Looking forward to what happens when I ask for "sewage outflow with floating dead cow!!

Thanks David. Nice job on your dirty water entry.
I thought I'd rough up your water a little (something was bothering me) - what do you think?
Will leave the floating dead cow alone. Looks good though.

All mine own images shot at local lake. Used AI to extend pond.

I like that Frank!

Re: Challenger 958: The flood wall
BTW I don.t think this would work for the sewage. It’s too thick and dead and the thick foam and scum on the surface would suppress any splashing.

Well this forum is called how to cheat in Photoshop.

Still no AI.

It seems to be holding out quite well Steve, as RAF Lancaster bomber Dambuster's 80th-anniversary flight is re-scheduled to test new flood defenses.

Now that is very clever Ant and an extraordinary leap in imagination!

Re: Challenger 958: The flood wall
I seem to have got rather obsessed with this one and have freed up a bit more time. I'm still treating this as a fairly literal minded exercise. This was the hardest of all my offerings as the pool and surround is built from twelve images asides from Steve's base image. A good four hours work.

So now I have done a good number of variations the next step is going to be to ask AI to produce as close as possible the same basic themes.

Ben your last image I find incredibly convincing. You have added all the wildlife and other bits and pieces in a way that really fits.

Nice work David.

I have accomplished or succeeded in my mission to prove that I can "better" "Generative AI fill". I hope Steve doesn't take it too badly!

Here I have used Steve's original starter image with the original stone wall still extant.

No! They're not Daffodils! They're Yellow Irises or the yellow flag.

On re-examination I think I should perhaps exclude the lady on the flying carpet from this compliment ........

Re: Challenger 958: The flood wall
At the end of the video, I've included several AI images. Various members have shown what a remarkable job it does adding water, but I wanted to try other objects. To say I was blown away would be an understatement.
But that being said, I was also saddened by how easy it's become. It's taken me twenty years to reach a certain level of proficiency and now a simple selection and a text prompt achieves an astounding result in twenty seconds.

This looks like my backyard at the moment, minus the pond. It's been taken over by brush/bush turkeys in the day and possums at night.
