Josephine I agree about the standard of work and ingenuity this week. I hope that Beryl has enjoyed all her visual birthday images.

Love your snow globe; I wish I had thought of it myself.

Nice work everyone.

I apologise for going on about my health issues, but I'm unable to do any animation, and I can't continue any more.

Thank you Gordon 🙂 I can’t pretend it was very complicated to do “the maximum of milk for the minimum of moo” to quote Terry Pratchett’s Vetinari

No need to apologize Michael - hope things improve for you - always enjoyed your entries - even if some were a "little" off topic.

"Happy Birthday Beryl!!!...."

The great 90! What a mile stone to reach. You are truly blessed. May you be blessed with many more healthy birthdays.

Good of you guys taking her out and about. Hope she had a beautiful day. Hope my little fishes sing "Happy Birthday" to her proudly and bring a smile to face.

God bless!

I have posted a Christmas card (with about 30 anomalies) in Announcements. Merry Christmas to all.

Re: Challenge 983: Beryl in Birmingham
First to treat Beryl this week was DavidMac, giving her rather more of a treat than she was expecting. Very nicely done – although that arm looks like a safety hazard. She fits well into the Nautilus entry, although there’s something a bit dodgy about the lighting on Captain Nemo.

Plenty of fish from lwc, and very fine they are too. I think schools of fish all tend to swim in the same direction though, don’t they? I really enjoyed the shark entry – that’s a really cute smile! I like how you’ve replaced the glass with bars in the tiger entry. The added parrot is fun.

I like the fantasy of Ant Snell’s mix of Atlantis and Jules Verne. But don’t you the lighting on the man should match the background?

An extraterrestrial view from GKB, with a rather splendid neon-effect poster on the wall. As you know I like to put these things at an angle rather than head on, as it always looks synthetic to me. The world can have too much Wes Anderson. I like the 2001 reference in the animated version, and the splendid array of planets. The shuttle round the planet scene is glorious – really nice work.

An unusual entry from Tom, in that it’s devoid of mystical lights and symbolism. It also looks like I have a really bad skin condition, coupled with a boozer’s nose. Enough! Although I do like the reflection on the glass. And the Hal entry is spot on.

It took me a moment to interpret Ben Boardman’s entry, which I now see is a seal diving down and bringing bubbles with it. Nicely done – the bubbles coming from the mouth of the other seal set it off nicely. And the reflections really help to give the glass some substance. The swordfish entry is very dramatic: are those their real expressions, or have you angered them?

The rippling water in Frank's video entry is interesting; I like the serenity of the penguins, Until it all turns disco, of course – what a great greetings card! I must find a way to show her this.

A seasonal entry from Josephine Harvatt, and of course that is the perfect location for a snow globe. Remarkable how well it fits in there.

A new hairdo from michael sinclair, or possibly a wig. A bold idea, and the reflection does very nearly work – indeed, it would do in that position if the glass were at much more of an angle. Still, it’s an entertaining concept and I do like the scenery. I hope you can get back to animating soon – this image was crying out for your trademark zooming clouds.

High spectacle from dwindt, with a splendid array of decorations. I particularly like Beryl’s hat. Charming!

Yes I was aware of it but it just seemed a bit excessive to rebuild when a ninety year old on a roller coaster is such a monumentally improbable and silly idea anyway! I think we can safely put it down to limited twister awareness in the elderly.

............... there’s something a bit dodgy about the lighting on Captain Nemo.

Yes. There is. Sometimes it's a problem 'fighting' the existing lighting to impose your own.

An unusual entry from Tom ......... and the Hal entry is spot on.

I've been wondering all week what Tom's second entry was about. I knew I should know but just couldn't place it. Of course HAL! How incredibly dumb of me! Thank you for putting me out of my misery Steve.
