God knows what happened, but I've uploaded it again. Let's see how this goes.

Works now, and that is another way...

Steve, it is no longer possible to access the page bringingstatuestolife.com. It fell over during the "Kiss me Hardy" week and is still down.
here

I’ve taken it down. You can find the statues here.

If I wanted a full description of this technique I would click on Oliver Cromwell, then on the following text:

"You can see how this image was created here."

This was a link which took you to the tutorial. This link no longer works. If it's not one of yours then we will just have to forget it. It's gone.

Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
Thus is slightly off topic but Anna's entry reminded me instantly of something from the past.

The city of Cannes, aside from its famous film festival, also hosts the much lesser known Advertising Film Festival. It's a huge event - complete with Gold and Silver Lions and even a Palme D'Or. Aside from all the usual narcissistic back patting it does serve as a genuine showcase for the best in advertising from all over the world. One of the things we always looked forward to was the Japanese entries as they were often so utterly different. Back in the late 'sixties this unexpected gem was the big talking point. Despite its total bizarreness it's a 100% genuine ad. I can't remember if it was actually a prize winner.

I had the devil's own job finding it anywhere online as apparently it offends YouTube's community guidelines and has been taken down everywhere that the various links led to. (I wondered for a moment if Vimeo had done the same thing to Anna.) This is the only copy I could find anywhere and, for some unknown reason, it has a time code running right across the middle of the picture ..... it rather spoils the picture, but it certainly doesn't spoil the total oddity!

I certainly can’t imagine this getting filmed and distributed anywhere today 😱

Thanks for pointing that out - an old link I forgot to correct. Fixed now.

No problem Steve. I just needed to remind myself how you created stubble.

….. and it’s really clever. I’ve done the same thing myself using motion blur, but the use of radial blur from the centre of the face is pure genius!

Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters

As carbonated beverages predate colour photography by about 100 years, maybe sepia is more appropriate.

Re: Challenge 996: Aerated Waters
interesting work everybody

I have been having altercations with my freshly installed After Effects which had to be a six month-old previous version; therefore no time this week for anything serious.
