I like the 'brainy' glass column Gordon.

We've all been indulging in horror fantasies, but the truth is rather more prosaic ...............

Anticipating that I might get called out on the use of a sea turtle, I offer this alternate version.

It's 41° (105° F) in the shade here, and in central Europe we mostly don't have air conditioned homes. The coolest place is right in front of the fan next to my computer and it's too bloody exhausting to go out in this heat anyway.

So idle hands are at work ...........

Wow, that's too hot and it's not August yet... brutal temps indeed.

Baking hot again. The coolest place to be is still right in front of the fan next to my computer doing something that requires no effort. So here's yet another.

Lots of electrics again. I haven't used Steve's photo 'cos I needed more space and symmetry but I have used Crossness and the Dr Victor movie.

So that's it. Off for my monthly knife clinic. Seven Japanese chef's knives and two Chinese cleavers to bring to razor perfection. I do it the old fashioned way with traditional water stones. It's very calming and restful.

First off , Thanks for the messages in the Personal section, doing better now and have my wife moved to a nursing home only 5 minutes from my house. I am still looking at possible stenting of a few arteries in a few weeks.
Nice work everybody - some interesting variations.

God's strength and blessings Frank.

I had to get this image down from 121mb, to get it small enough to post. It was a task in itself. I hope you're able to make it out.

Lovely work everyone.

Wow, it downgraded a great deal. At least you can make it out. The steel (wooden) box is now bricked into the building.

Re: Chapter 1060: Don't get Cross(ness)
Funnily I find what you have done to the building more compelling than the figures, who seem somehow rigid and unreal.

Purely on a technical note, There's something very odd about the girl who is being supported. Her head doesn't quite seem to belong to her body. It looks flat and 2D compared to the rest of her.

This is really striking work Dennis. There's so much that's so good ........ but something, somehow, doesn't quite convince me.

Re: Chapter 1060: Don't get Cross(ness)
Thank you, David. Good observation. Light seemed to bleed through where shadow should be, so I've added shade under her chin and on the doctor's arm. I pose the models individually and then Photoshop them into the scene. I then try and add the figure shadows etc. after adding them.

I tried to get a comic look to the image and added a sketch outline to it. The original is rather soft in appearance.

Dennis,, my entries are ususally between 6 Mb and 10 Mb in size. I post them on staticflickr.com and put a link on the FC. Works for me.

Re: Chapter 1060: Don't get Cross(ness)
Michael this is lovely work! ...... and really quite touching.

I am fascinated by the crestfallen, contemplative monster. Not just the face, but the unusual posture especially. He's so completely surprising and unexpected. Just marvellous.

If it's not a rude question I would love to know how much is 'found' and how much is Michael. I suspect there's an awful lot of the latter.

Yes. When I look at it in that context it all comes together. I hadn't seen it that way before.
