Ha Ha, I also showed my wife, who didn’t get it, so you are not on your own, David. Maybe the story is more in my head than in the image. For clarity, it is supposed to be a reinterpretation of Houdini’s water escapology trick that’s possibly gone or going wrong.

I thought the call box would make a great pair of earrings for the model I'm working on. The call box image masked and a normal, alpha and bump map done in PS then placed on a plane for render with Iray.

I love the lighting on this Dennis.

So is she a render too? If so she's seriously impressive.

I'd sort of got half way there. I got the basic idea but I wasn't sure (and am still not) if I should be recognising the characters. Particularly the young magician who looks very distinctive as if he's someone I ought to be recognising but aren't.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO GO IN THE WATER AGAIN .................... HE'S BACK!!!

This was another of those 'simple' ideas that proved to be far trickier than I anticipated. Trying to get the box to blend comfortably and realistically into this already slightly bonkers bathroom was not quite the straightforward task I thought it would be!

When I first had this idea (before I thought of Lawrence) it was going to be just a girl in a phone booth shower. I went googling for "woman taking shower". What I got (for obvious reasons I suppose) was almost entirely heads and shoulders or torsos. But I needed the full figure to get the best out of the phone box idea.

So I added the words 'full figure' to my search.

I got lots more heads and shoulders and torsos ............

........... but plumper and fatter!

Well that's fun Mariner. Green phone box and leprechaun .... is this an Irish Santa?

Loyd that's extraordinary! The machines look totally convincing. How much is real and how much have you adapted/created? That's also a neat rebuild (I presume) to get the top view on the centre box.

It's interesting to see that, now you are posting more static images, your Photoshop skills are really emerging.

Love the phone wires to the box. Great detail!

A good many years back, in 1972, I filmed a 'road train' travelling some of the remoter parts of central Australia. That's when really I realised just how vast and empty so much of it was. Much will have changed since then, but I would imagine there are still huge swathes of virtually uninhabited terrain.

Amazing country!

All real, only three images were used David, the background was rather small so I used Upscayl on it. The two cutouts were the most time-consuming. The highlight on the top of one of the boxes was completely blown out and had to rework it. Then it was just positioning for perspective, a little shadow work, and final overall tweaking… thanks!

Yes it's all a bit of a joke. That's an elf, not a leprechaun, but that is definitely an Irish telephone box, I don't know what it's doing there.

This image was from my first 1/2 circuit in 1971 - still much the same. The Road Trains still run 4 trailers.

OMG! It seems you actually found genuine phone box moving equipment. They really look to be made quite specifically for this purpose. If so, I am quite amazed. I never knew that such things existed!!

Thank you David and Michael. Yes, it is a render of a Daz Genesis9 model that I've just finished tweaking various maps for. I added some vellus hair for realism to, including adding some morphs for surface veins, bumps etc.

Who could've guessed there were so many uses for a phone box? Great entries everyone.
