Re: Challenge 1108: The mysterious gateway
Lots of lovely very visual stuff this week. I particularly like Vibeke's mist. It's very convincing. This one is not visual - it's just me having fun. It's big! Worth clicking to see full size. Two badly cold and rainy days here, so lots of time for silly stuff …….
Some of you may be disappointed by your portrayal here and some of you will be missing altogether. Please accept that this is pure chance based on the very limited choice I have and the fact that in some cases I have no image at all. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

and the education continues. Here you have a render of a 3D model blended with an alpha plain and then an attempt to manipulate, tweak and tone the original brief photo into the rendered image. ![]() _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

But I really liked the alpha plain of the brief photo and 3D model together. PS tweaked and broken wall PS in. ![]() _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |

What a lot of great entries... wonderful lighting and ideas from everyone. David - How fun, you put a lot into that one. I must have gotten there too late, from my expression, it seems that they sold out prior to my arrival...

My daughters got a giggle out of that one! |

Posted both because I'm never sure if Giphy will work or not.

The image may be trivial but the amount of work was not. Two miserable cold stormy days kept me inside ........... so the devil found work ............ _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

The Twilight Zone! 1960’s I think. Haven’t seen that for years. It didn’t get much airtime in the UK that I can remember. I do, however, remember one about a blond six year old boy who could do terrible things to people with his mind if he didn’t like them or thought they were 'bad'. The whole town is terrorised by him and has to spend the entire time pretending he is likeable and telling him how the terrible petty, nasty things he does are a "real good thing!”. Seems somehow prescient nowadays ………. the allegorical childhood of a certain American president ........... _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

I remember that show David, if memory serves Billy Mummy played the boy. Probably the most iconic episode starred William Shatner of Star Trek fame. The episode featured a man on a passenger plane who spots a creature trying to destroy the engine on the wing of the aircraft. One cable tv channel here still shows The Twilight Zone frequently. |

I just did some research as my memories are very vague. Yes Bill Mummy and yes it would appear that the 'man on the wing' episode was one of the most memorable, although I have no memory of it personally. I don't think I ever saw it. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
