Re: Challenge 1125: Dial a nook
Is this really a 'thing' in the USA or is it a Loyd invention?

Shouldn't the animated one be counting down?

ISLINGTON PLAYS HOST TO THE WORLD BOXING KANGAROO CHAMPIONSHIP.

Aside from the contest itself, the star attraction was the taxidermically preserved body of the famed 20th century kangaroo boxer, Aussie.

In 1928 Aussie left his Adelaide base to fight in Brisbane and Toowoomba and then got offers to fight in Europe. In 1929 he arrived in England and trained in London’s East End.

After nine years as a professional boxer, Aussie retired to the London Zoo in 1937 after he contracted arthritis in his tail.

Upon his passing his body was preserved for posterity by taxidermy.

Despite this post being a bunch of pommy nonsense. the part about Aussie, amazingly, is true! He was real!

His preservation, however, is a fiction on my part.

The added ring lighting is a nice improvement, and you're getting some good use of that cutout railing...

fyi - The original image worked on both iPad and PC Chrome. The new image is only working on the iPad. On the PC, I get an HTTP ERROR 429. I've never seen this particular error message before... most strange.

EDIT - As soon as I hit post, the image is now working... I just don't understand what's going on!

For years I have used Flickr together with Safari and it has always worked perfectly. A few months ago it suddenly started producing the little blue question mark instead of an embedded image. It wasn't inevitable but happened most of the time. I tried posting with Chrome and it worked fine (most of the time). Chrome posted links always work with Chrome and sometimes with Safari. Sometimes a duff link will suddenly start working for no apparent reason.

I don't understand what's going on either .............

On the basis that the problem may rest somewhere in my browser security settings blocking the image, I've read through and tried solutions from countless web posts and the Safari forum but all to no avail.

Now I'm going to check out Error 429 see if that has any clues ............. I'm not holding my breath ...........

Thanks David. It took a while to create.

First off Michael I really like the way you have isolated the booth by extending the railing behind it.

But the rest has me puzzled. The there are clear references to football in the pitch and the boys shirt, but subject of his attention appears to be the Spanish singer Aitana .......... ????

I gave cutting out the railings a thought, and decided to do it only if absolutely necessary... when you finish it, you could always post it on a white background for the rest of us.

Loyd, and the rest of you: here is a more elegant wrought iron fence which I found today on the net. It's something I often find useful. You are very welcome to use it whenever you want.

I am only playing David. Don't take me so seriously.

I think you might have solved my problem with flickr: you have not used the img suffix which I have been using for centuries. You have used url. I shall try out your idea right now.

YES! The problem has gone away. At least for now. Thanks, David.

Re: Challenge 1125: Dial a nook
Mariner - Strange happenings with flickr. Worked on Chrome PC, then it didn't. Worked on iPad, then it didn't. Checked Chrome again and it worked then stopped. Copied address, and pasted into Microsoft browser and it works. Tried again with chrome and now it's working... I'm beginning to think that the issues are somehow time related with all of the various servers that it must travel through... I do not have this problem with any other sites. Most confusing indeed...!!!!
