Good work Puffin. Just seen your first entry. Brewell and Ted love your entries too. Brewell, the bloke with the pillow seems to be trying to swat an unknown assailant lurking behind the sofa! Anna, which comes first, finding/choosing appropriate music and building the image on that or creating the image and then choosing the music? Great production as always. Josephine, great idea. Tickled by your new avatar. Sophie PS: Hope you and Vibeke are |

Kitten, all I love your cats. My mother and sister too. Dilemma I love birds too. My garden is full of birds. Little Mr Robin was hungry and flapped around me when I was clearing the frozen down pipe. So he gets food every day,but I am not here all the time This little robin came into my house and looked at me when I left the backdoor open. When he gets his food he's gone |

Re: Challenge 328: Window dressing
A warm, lively scene from Eggbox kicked off this week's entries, with a couple of artfully lit-up lamps and a fine selection of gift-wrapped presents. Good to see Santa in there, too, although in my experience the man tends to pile all the presents up, rather than distributing them liberally around the room. A good view through the glass table, and a neat reflection! A nicely made scene from puffin31939, with a pair of babies fitting tidily onto the sofa - I like the way they've been sunk into the cushions - and a great Santa, with hands resting on the back. The angle of the woman in the chair actually looks fine, the only problem is that she's too large for the chair - and that's why it looks a little odd. Excellent placement of the teddy bear, very well tucked behind the glass table! Trial by Streisand and tickling: well, if brewell's right, this could certainly be a novel approach. I like the way all the figures have been slotted into the scene, especially the man sitting on the sofa. The guy in the extreme foreground, though, looks rather dark and fuzzy-edged: does he really belong in this picture? A good couple of occupants from laddition, who appear to be in a tent - is that right? Or is that a window with curtains? The boy fits perfectly, but the woman appears to be hovering above the chair. Maybe it's because her angle doesn't match the chair, or maybe she's just too high! An exxtraterrestrial addition from odo - a nice idea. But shouldn't some of the objects be changed to something more relevant to ET? A bicycle, or a phone, perhaps? Rather tasty recolouring from tooquilos, with a worn-out Santa in shorts dozing after a long evening's present-giving. Shorts? Well, I suppose Christmas does come in the summer, for you. But what a terrific set of poses you've strung together to create the animated version! Very nice! Clever of Josephine Harvatt to spot the paper cutouts on the table, and to link that to Edward Scissorhands - with just the hint of scissors coming in to create a new paper sculpture. Something odd about the placement of the head, though, which seems rather at odds with the rest of the scene: I'd move it higher - it doesn't need to be so close to the scissors - and perhaps add some magenta and cyan to the skintones. The animated version, though, is brilliant - love the blinking! An entertaining trilogy from Daniel, starting with a lone guitarist (very neatly cutout guitar, by the way), who goes on to play with the plane and the toy car. There's something very sad and poignant about these images... I've never felt so sorry for a Poser figure before. Well thought-out, and nicely made. Detailed work from Garfield72, with some subtle table reflections - very nicely achieved! And Santa fits well onto that sofa. Great removal of the tags, too! I greatly enjoyed Stefano Giacomuzzi's entry, which looks the most like a real room - excellent work. Do I recognise that wallpaper from 100% Photoshop? I really like the way the blanket drapes over the side, and the way the newspaper covers the reader's face. Perfect, Stefano. Great work. I'm not sure what it all means (as ever), but I was hugely impressed with Jota120's entry - the angle of view of all those people is exactly right, and the way they're seen through the glass table is very nicely done (although perhaps a bit of refraction needed?). Good stuff, Trevor. But your entries always need footnotes. I like the way BigVern has bundled everything up and plugged it into a couple of giant speakers - and some cool lighting effects, too. Terrific shadows on the ground! Have fun in Disneyland. Remember, everything you see there is copyright Walt Disney, so careful what you do with the photos. Now why do I get the impression that kitten is something of a car lover? A great array of cats here, very neatly posed in the photograph. The knitting grannie has obviously been a little distorted to fit the space - remember to distort the head back afterwards! A fine (and rare) animation from Eva Roth, with some truly groovy wallpaper. I like the minimalism, and the motion blur on the cat - that's one destructive pussy. Very nicely achieved! A bit of a political statement from puffin31939 - and it's a statement well made, and well worth making. My only small problem is that the girl is looking to the left of the picture, rather than at it - but this is a minor issue. I did check out the second entry, but couldn't see any difference - am I missing something obvious? A touch of party politics from Sophie, with a current and ex prime minister sharing a pre-Christmas chat. I like the penguin, rather bizarrely, but that kid in the foreground is at the wrong angle! We're looking down on the table top - so we need to be looking at the bricks from the same angle. Tricky stuff, perspective. Terrific work from Deborah Morley, whose Royle family fits so well into the scene. The idea of putting a table in the foreground to cover up the tricky floor area is a great cheat! |

Thank you Steve! The relative position of hands and head were as per the original poster I swiped it from and didn't think to examine. Glad you like the blinking I was rather proud of it meself she said not very modestly ! ![]() _________________ I'm not really bad - I just draw that way |

Thank you Steve ![]() Thanks also Sophie...the music/audio generally pops in my head first after I have thought of a theme and scenario for the challenge. Then the challenge is created around the audio. _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |

Re: Challenge 328: Window dressing
Thanks, Steve. Your kind comments have boosted my confidence a lot. The second 'political' entry had some shadows between the posters and the noticeboard but I don't think they were obvious enough! The teddy bear in the family picture had to go there as it was hiding the fact that the young lady had no feet! |

Re: Challenge 328: Window dressing
Thanks again Steve. Okay, maybe I should at least add a Title sometimes. This one South American daughter and mother go to look down on the west/G1x, .... or She could also be knitting the web of life, and the daughter, what's to do with you?. I was thinking of refraction too for the table, quite small in this case I think, so it remained a thought. No excuse. Josephine I missed your animation, great work! Anna thanks for explaining, I'd never have thought of starting with the music first but makes a lot of sense. I love music and helps inspire paintings/photoshop when work is inprogress |
