Re: Challenge 347: Moroccan butcher
Thanks Steve. The flies are actually made as you suggested but they are so small that you can hardly see the details.

I dread to think what those furry-looking things are on the left of the slab in your photo of a 'real' butcher.

Great entries from everyone.

Gordon

A late entry from a new member, andrnosenko - and it's a military store, full of guns, bombs and what appear to be terrorist maps. A little shading on the maps would help, particularly the one hanging from the hook: an interesting image, though, if perhaps politically rather awkward. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the kind comments, Steve.
You are absolutely right the leering chimp is too big ... even if he had his nose pressed to the glass he'd be monster. Cheers Vern

Excellent work from nerdtron, who has completely refitted the butcher into a music store. And it's a perfect conversion: the glass case now holds CDs, as does the cooler unit; the speakers on the walls, the headphones hanging from hooks, the iMac showing iTunes in the foreground, and the subtle recolouring of the walls... immaculate, beautifully executed work, Neth, and certainly enough to earn you an overdue title. So let's see... I think it has to be Neutron Neth since you're a Jimmy Neutron fan. Excellent work!

weeee....i'm so happy to earn my title!

Neutron Neth is so much fun to hear. Thank you very much Sir Steve!

A realistic image from puffin31939, with animal parts convincingly hanging from the hooks and a well-stocked glass case. But look at the far right: the hook rail is behind the hanging saw, which is behind the shop window. So how can the items hooked on that rail be hanging outside the front of the shop? I do like the overall effect, though, which brings a strong sense of texture into the image.

Aah! Never even noticed the saw and its position. Thanks for pointing this out -something else to be aware of in the future.

Thanks for the comments Steve.

That is actually a Chestburster from Alien. Stretched him out with a bit of Puppetwarp to attempt to give the feeling of gravity.

Thanks Steve, I changed the size of sausages and forgot to put the layer's opacity to 70%.
Effectively the poster is too bright

The thing is, Eva, it's their own fault for tasting so good.

Re: Challenge 347: Moroccan butcher
Congratulations Nerdtron on your new Title. (Its not related, I think(?), but it reminds of Neutron Stars when I first heard Steve's announcement).

Great entries all. I don't know if enjoy is the right expression this week for some! Some went very close too ....

That said, sorry I could not make an entry this week. Apart from time, mine started to go into areas that some might find offensive (both directions) i.e. to do with some meat markets visited in Asia.

Thanks Steve, Although I did not add the hooks in front, they were in the original pic. Hope you have a great Holiday weekend.

Beautiful, inspiring and fabulously detailed work from Daniel this week, in which the pigs really have taken over the store. There's so much detail in here it's hard to know where to start - all the hanging guitars, the pig reflection behind him, the graffiti, the smashed wine bottle with the Marlboro pack seen through it, the bottle of Jack Daniels in the fish tank, and the crack on the tank glass, the burning cigarette... and, of course, the glorious pigs themselves. Where did they come from? Did you create them in Poser? One tiny thing: the Marlboro pack should be more refracted seen through the bottle; and glass doesn't break like that! Otherwise, a strong and truly powerful image. Really excellent work, Daniel.

Thanks a lot for the comments Steve. I am glad that you liked my entry... The pig in my image is a 3D figure called Frankie! I did not create it myself! I totally agree with your comment regarding refraction of the Marlbro pack. However, whether the glass breaks like that or not, I don't have a clue! ... I found the image on the Internet!

Sorry, a bit late ! Thanks Steve. Glad to see you enjoyed my entry. Yes, Casablanca is so near Marrakech, that, I couldn't think anything else than my favorite movie ! I watched it a zillion times, and I never tire to enjoy the magical lighting effects !
