Thanks Steve. You're right about the colour being a little too yellow, I spent so much time trying to get a convincing flicker in the animation that I neglected the quality in the still image.

But in the middle of the fire, shouldn't the individual flames be larger than that? They seem rather small and fiddly in there, where I'd expect them to billow rather more.

Hi Steve.
That’s what I was thinking until I looked at some flame photos.

Thanks for the comments and answers to my questions. This was a fun project and it's interesting to see people all have different takes on it.

Sadly, for me, it was hard to draw. I don't seem to have the ability to translate what I see into something that looks vaguely acceptable. I do have 100% PS and hope to tackle it eventually so that should help but I am trying to work my way through Cheat first.

'Fraid I can't take credit for that - borrowed it from a Burning Man poster. My bad???

I'm still trying to work out how Brewell's mind jumped from a bonfire to tanning booths for hot dogs.

Here's a bit of a clue - I own several collections of cartoons by Gary Larson, creator of "The Far Side."

Thanks for your comments, Steve! Yes, the glow did look wrong, but a five second cheating job didn't allow for anything more sophisticated... Apologies for the terribly late reply - I'm pretty much offline this week...
