The background is a list of other winners of the RIBA Royal Gold Medal, Evans is one of just 10 medallists who were archaeologists. Ben Boardman

Thanks for the Smudge tip Steve. I'll try that next time.

She is not amused by Sir Arthur's lack of decorum.

This was a good challenge. The key for skin tones I think is proper manipulation of noise layers. My post is a bit grainy in the face so I blurred it a touch before putting it away.

I couldn't make my mind up if he had a 'tache or not, mind you it does help to hide the lips.
So now he has a 'tache. Have a good week-end all.

Good point about the font - an unconscious association with Poirot bumbling round archeological sites I expect

Thanks, Steve. I had fun with the first entry but I think I was exceeding my skill level in the second & third efforts!

Nicely drawn hair from Whaler, with very subtle skin shading - perhaps a little too subtle; the man looks positively anaemic. I don't understand what's going on with that shadow: it seems his body casts a shadow, but his head doesn't. Spooky!

Yes, I admit that old Arthur looks too polished and slightly anaemic. I had a second version in mind, but I didn't find the time for it. Regarding the shadow: That's the shadow from the original photo (I used nothing but the original shadows), so there must've some strange lighting where you took the picture!
