Thanks Steve, matching both the perspective and the colour was more time consuming than I would have liked.

I'm a little confused by the lighting, though; Nelson is lit from the left, the column from the right, and the base mainly from above. A little baffling!

Aha! You spotted the Nelson anomaly! I always knew the column lighting was a poor fit - but Nelson was another problem entirely. To get any kind of fit at all the column had to be flipped. This meant Nelson had his left arm in his jacket. So I flipped just him back again hoping no one would notice.

Should have known better than to expect to slip that one past you.

To be honest this week was a rush job on both images. More fun than Photoshop.

You are quite right Steve. Your expanded base looks much better. I. Learning!

Re: Challenge 550: Half a column
Thank you, Steve. I thought the reflection from the table would be less strong owing to it being farther away from the floor, but perhaps it is too weak. I'm glad you liked the chair reflection. I really had to work that one out. Simply flipping the chair didn't work. I had to cut out the back legs onto separate layers and then create the base. I felt like I was working on a HotChiPs tutorial on how to furnish a room. Glad you liked the wall colour. Originally the wall was burgundy because I was going to use a couch that had gold and burgundy strips but then I realised that I would have to make the whole image too small to make out the column base in order to upload it onto the forum. When I found the chair it was too much burgundy. I figured it would be easier to convincingly change the wall colour than the chair colour. It is a lovely shade. I only wish I had more time to add some more moulding.

Thanks Steve. I considered some more decoration but thought it would interfere with the aerodynamics!!

Thanks Steve. I didn't have very much time this week so I hope that what it lacks in perfection is made up for in silliness

An extraordinary carved column from Jota120. What is this? Where can I get a closer look at it? Remarkable. On balance I prefer it with Tibet, rather than without.

Thanks again Steve and always appreciate the time you take to review and comment on all contributions.

The sculptures by Gustav Vigeland at the Frogner Park, Oslo, Norway can be found at for example following page.

I think I prefer my version with Tibet in as well
