Anna, I tried your URL twice and both times got this:

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

Make sure you’ve typed the URL correctly, or try searching Vimeo. You could also watch one of the videos below instead.

Yes, this one works fine Anna. Funny things happening. Your original link now works fine too. Don't ask.

Nice entries all.
Gordon - very nicely done - you and I did a somewhat similar theme - like how the day changes
David Mac - you're too hard on yourself - they look very good to me.
Anna - nice redo of the tale - poor troll

Thank you Frank. Sometimes they 'flow' sometimes they don't. Looking fresh at it again it doesn't feel quite as bad as it did at the time.

I love your split waterline. Very nice. Strangely, it's something that's very tricky to do in real life because of the differing refractive indexes above and below.

Re: Challenge 795: Under the bridge
I have just noticed something else about the forum's odd behaviour.

If I post something new the screen reverts, as usual, to the index page. Looking in the top right of this page my new post is there showing as the latest post - even though, when I go into view it, it doesn't actually display without a page reload .......

Re: Challenge 795: Under the bridge
First to refill the river this week was Ant Snell, with a very fine flooding image. I particularly like the Magritte-like figure with the umbrella standing on the bridge. Best of all, though, is the way the shadows have been replicated on the water - very convincing.

A neatly drawn river from GKB, disappearing under the bridge, with a great horse and carriage on top. (I’d like to have seen shadows on those, though.) A lot of time passing in the animated version, with some good changes of weather conditions. A few requests: make the river match the sky; add several layers of falling rain at different rates, so it doesn’t look like a curtain in front; and turn the wheels on that carriage!

Some extraordinary flooding from DavidMac, with a tremendous sense of action - the expressions on the people in the foreground are splendid. A great sense of devastation in the second entry; masking those reflections must have been really time-consuming. Worth it, though. The hobbiting of the third entry is fantastic, especially the conversion of the bridge arch into a doorway. Really glorious, David.

A perfectly implemented river from Ben Mills, with the arch of the bridge rather ingeniously extended. I particularly like the new colouring, which adds a lot of both warmth and drama to the scene.

A homage to Wind in the Willows from Ben Boardman, with Mole and Ratty on their boat watched by badger. And is that Toad dressed as a washerwoman on the bridge? Charming. I realise none of this will make much sense to our American visitors.

I enjoyed Josephine Harvatt’s estate agency flyer - especially how it’s neatly dampened. “No trolls or billy goats” indeed. But maybe set the text just a little larger!

Gasp! Has michael sinclair actually used an element from the image I supplied? It would appear so. A tremendous outpouring of water, nicely framed by those foreground rocks. A couple of points: the trees look more like they’re trembling with fear than blowing in the wind; and one section of water seems to last for two frames, which rather upsets the gushing effect. Otherwise excellent.

A remarkably rebuilt wall from Mariner, who has removed all the shadows and vegetation from in front of the bridge - an excellent effort, although I think a builder might question your bricklaying technique. I like the subtle reflections, and the fishermen add a useful human element. The field beyond is beautiful. It took me a while to figure out what I was holding in the second entry - I think it’s a PC. Most apt, considering.

A stormy scene from tooquilos, with a new view beyond the bridge and what appears to be a troll wading through the gushing river. Ah yes, there he is in the animated version - and you do have to feel rather sorry for him as his possessions are washed away. The only thing that bothers me is the way the goats glide over the top; tuck them behind the wall, and you won’t notice that the legs don’t move.

An impressive underwater scene from Frank, with a hint of water surface and an imaginative sense of watery depth beneath. A beautifully imagined animated version, too, with lightning flashing its illumination on the scene. I enjoyed all the passing watercraft, and the fire is most impressive.

Thanks, Josephine, for the starting image.
