Why is the man casting a shadow on the window? If it’s a reflection, then it’s in the wrong place. Why didn’t you repurpose some railing for the window beads, rather than using those thin plain lines? And there’s something very odd about the angle at which the woman is leaning, and the angle of the railing she’s leaning on. Shearing the railing up on the right might well fix the issue.

It's a reflection. Would you like to show me where I should have put it?

Shearing the RHS of the railing would have required other changes so, with an eye on the clock, I let it go.

The reflection needs to be the same apparent distance behind the glass as the man is in front of it. Also, since the light is on his front, the reflection needs to be a lot brighter.

Shearing the railing isn’t so complicated. Apologies for my hasty patching of the round window - I don’t have access to all the layers in your original!

Thanks Steve, - lots of work slowed down and complicated by a large chunk of brain rust - nevertheless fun and inspiring.
- Agree, great and complicated work by David Mac ( would twist my brain attempting it)
- Kudos to Vibeke, dwindt, Mariner, thinking outside the box with some splendid entries
- Always amazed by the little points you pick up on our entries and I enjoy and learn by analyzing the comments and watching some well done animations
- Again, well done all 👍👍👍

Yep, I agree. Thanks.

To create global shadowing I put a Bri/Con layer at the very top of the layers tree and masked out, among other things, the railings and the circular window. On Thursday night, about 10pm, it was time for bed and I would have had to adjust the mask to pinpoint the movement of the railings against the wall, against the floor, against the circular window, and on the railings themselves. I thought "It's too late now. Publish and be damned!"
Thanks for your help on this. Points taken.

Glorious, David, and very thought-provoking. I could stare at this for hours.

Well thank you Steve. Praise indeed! It was quite challenging.

I’m sure you spent a lot of time and effort on the second entry, but it’s much less satisfying than the original; there was a purity there which has somehow been lost in the profusion of baffling perspectives.

I agree entirely. The second was more technical to see how far I could take this difficult construction. The receding walkways and, more furtively, the multiple layering of their tinted glass sides was very mind bending.

Michael and David great work But wouldn't professor McDonald (professor of dynamic perspective) advocate vertical perspective throughout and not slanted perspectives (top left-hand corner of image)?

Maybe I've missed the point.

I think maybe you have.

For a more normal image I would, of course, have applied corrections. But, in this instance, the whole point was not to correct. It was a kind of voyage of discovery to find out where it would take me if I accepted Steve's awkward perspective and extended it. An experiment if you will. I agree the top left becomes very extreme but that is an inevitable by product of the experiment.

Thank you Steve. Well done everyone. Lovely challenge.

They are Daz models I posed especially for the picture.

Now to carry on with my 3D challenge. Think I better study the brief again cause I suspect I am drifting away from it.
